Chapter 27 - Scream a Little Louder - Rachel's POV

I've been in the hospital for 2 days and I barely moved since. My dads and Finn's mom and step dad, Burt, came to visit. I told Finn I didn't want any visitors except for parents. Finn was watching a football game on his phone when I woke up from my nap. "Hey, Rachel, how are you doing?" he asked me. "Finn. You keep asking me that all the time and my answer is going to be the same. I'm horrible, okay? Now stop asking me how I'm doing." I've been really grumpy ever since my baby girl died. I still haven't seen my son. I can't handle seeing him right now. He still hasn't taken a breath of his own. The doctors say since he's premature, he hasn't learned how to breath. "Do you want something to eat?" Finn asked. "No. I'm fine." "Rachel, you haven't eaten since yesterday. You need-" I cut him off. "Finn. I said I'm fine! Can you please, just leave me alone." I could see how angry he was with me, but I didn't care. "You know what Rachel? The first day, I ignored your attitude because I knew what you were going through. You act like you're the only one that lost her! I did to, okay?! So stop treating me like I didn't love or lose her because it's annoying now!" he said before he stormed out the room. I guess I was treating him wrong but I couldn't help it. 10 minutes later, I got up off the bed and walked to the children's nursery in the hospital. I saw Finn sitting next to our baby. I looked at him. He's so precious. He looks like Finn more than he looks like me. "I'm sorry, Finn. I just... I don't know what to do anymore." "It's okay Rach. I understand. We've just been under a lot of pressure." I hugged him and kissed him. The last time I felt his lips on mine was at the wedding reception. "He looks like you, you know. He has your nose." I told Finn. "Really? I don't see it. I think he has your nose." We both laughed. It's been so long since I wore a smile on my face. "So... What do you want to name him?" I asked. "I'm not sure. I was thinking Nathaniel or Charles." he said. "I don't know about those. How about Daniel or Carter?" "I like both. How about Daniel Carter Hudson?" he said. "I love it. Daniel Carter Hudson it is."
