Chapter 47 - Happy Birthday - Finn's POV

Everyone was all smiles and laughs towards the end of Daniel's party. Puck and I made up because I realized he was right to knock some sense into me. It was close to 9 o'clock which was Dan's bedtime. I took out the blue and green square cake that Rachel bought from Stop & Shop. We wanted to make sure Dan had the best birthday. We sang happy birthday to him and everyone began to leave. Rachel started to clean up. "Do you need some help with that?" I asked her. She smiled. "Sure." I put Dan in his room because he was sleepy. "Tonight was amazing by the way" I said to break the silence when I got back into the kitchen. "You did a lovely job planning everything" I added. "Thanks. I had some help from Kurt" she said. I nodded my head and continued cleaning. "Do you want a drink?" she asked me. "Only if you join me." We both laughed before she put down the garbage bag and got a bottle of wine out the kitchen cabinet. "How are you Finn, really?" "Really? I'm heartbroken. But I guess that'll pass. How are you?" "Where do I begin? I'm lonely, raising a one year old by myself, and I feel so ugly nowadays." I looked straight into her eyes. "You never looked better than you do now" I said. "Thank you Finn. You always knew exactly what to say". We just stared at one another. I walked closer to her, still starring into her big brown eyes. "What are you doing?" she whispers. "What I've been wanting to do since I came here today." I gently laid my hands on her face and kissed her. She pulled away instantly and looked at me. She grabbed me tight and kissed me hard. I lifted her up and went to the bedroom. I carefully laid her down and continued kissing her. This time, I could feel her heart was in it. We weren't just having sex, we were making love. This time, I knew i had won her back.
