I haven't talked to Rachel since the night she declined my love for her. I knew today that was going to change because it's Daniel's birthday. It's also been a year since Hope, our daughter and Dan's twin sister, died. It's gonna be a bittersweet day today and I know Rachel and I are gonna need each other more than ever today. I woke up to my pillow already soaked in tears from a dream that I had. Rachel and I were about 40 and Daniel was getting ready for college in Ohio on a football scholarship, while Hope, who was alive and healthy, followed her, and her mother's, dream of being a broadway star. We were the happiest family. I went to the bathroom to wash my face. I got dressed and made my way to the house. I whipped away a teardrop from my cheek and knocked on the door. Rachel opened the door and we just looked at each other. I shortly broke the silence. "It's good to see you, Rachel." "You too, Finn. Come in." I went inside to see Dan in the living room watching Nick Jr. "Dada!" he yelled as he ran to me. He stumbled and fell halfway. "Aw buddy. Are you okay?" He nodded. "Happy birthday big guy." I said. I lifted him off the ground and went to the kitchen. Rachel was getting ready for the party she planned for his birthday. "How about you go play with your toys so I can talk to mommy, okay?" "Okay." he replied before going back in the living room. "How are you?" I asked. "I'm fine. I just want my little guy to have a great day." she replied. "What about your big guy? Do you want me to have a great day?" She smiled. "I'm gonna take that as a yes." I said. "She would've been one today too." Rachel said. "I know." "I had a dream about her." she said as she put the chicken in the oven. "So did I. But she wouldn't want us to be sad, especially today, on her brother's birthday." "I know. I just miss her that's all. I imagine what life would be like if she was still here." "How about me? Do you imagine what life would be like if I never left?" I asked. "Yes." she replied. I smiled and offered to help with the food. Two hours later, the guests started to show up. My mom and Burt, Rachel's dads, Kurt, Blaine, and their daughter, Mercedes, Santana and Brittney, and even Quinn and Puck came to the party. I haven't talked or seen Puck since he punched the shit out of my face. "Welcome everyone." Rachel said. "Time to start the party."
