Alec left the cabin just as the sun was beginning to rise over the horizon, he wanted to leave before the pack woke up so that he could be alone; he removed his clothing leaving them in a small pile by the cabin and walked towards the forest his body shifting in the process.
The cool breeze blew through his fur as he broke into a run, darting through the trees and leaping over fallen obstacles.
As if fate had some part to play in their meeting, Alec came face to face with the white beauty.
He had just managed to leap over a moss-covered boulder when he landed taking her by surprise as their bodies collided with one another and rolling along the ground.
As they came to a stop Alec was toppled over her, he quickly moved and shook out his fur. Ara stood up and shook out her fur as well getting rid of some leaves and dirt.
She looked over at Alec and narrowed her eyes. He quickly shifted and held his hands up in front of him.
"Sorry I didn't mean to do that. It was an accident. I honestly didn't see you there."
Ara snorted in response and turned to walk away.
"Hey wait. Where are you going?"
She looked back at him then looked away as she continued to walk off. Alec sighed in frustration and against his better judgment he followed slowly behind her until they stopped at the lake where they had first met.
He watched as she shifted and jumped into the water, he made his way over to the edge of the lake and looked around before jumping into the water after her.
The two spent the rest of their time swimming, enjoying the company of each other, laughing and splashing one another with the cool water.
When they tired of swimming they climbed out and rested on the soft grass, staring up at the clear blue sky.
The sun would be setting soon and knowing his father, he would be calling Alec back home to hound him as he usually had done.
Sighing he sat up and turned to Ara
"I need to head back now. I'll see you later."
She turned to look at him and nodded her head, the corners of her lips moving down forming a frown.
"Okay..."
She watched as he shifted and ran off back towards his home leaving her all alone at the lake as she found herself so many other times.
Upon returning home, the Alpha wrapped his arm around his son's shoulders pulling him close.
"Have you had that talk with Amelia yet?"
He looked at him expectantly. Alec rolled his eyes inwardly and nodded.
"I have... She understands what needs to be done, so can we stop with this already? I have done what you have asked of me every time. All I ask is to be left alone until her heat comes; is that too much to ask for?"
His anger was beginning to rise as his father continued to nudge him to bed Amelia.
The Alpha narrowed his eyes at his son, he had never once raised his voice to him, something was suddenly taking over and pushing him to question and act out against his father's wishes.
"You already know the answer to that, son. I will not let this go until you have fulfilled that duty and Amelia is carrying your pups. The sooner you do this, the sooner it will all be over, and I will no longer have to push this upon you."
Alec removed his father's arm from around his shoulders and stormed into the cabin without giving him a second glance.
He was tired of his constant ramblings. He didn't care for Amelia this way; his father knew this and yet he couldn't seem to care one bit.
For all he cared for was that his inane traditions were being kept parring and that everything was still under his foot as he always had the last and final word.
