Another month had passed and yet nothing still changed. Amelia still had yet to become pregnant even with how often the Alpha had Alec bed with her. All the while Ara's belly continued to grow and the Alpha's agitation with it grew.
If Amelia didn't somehow miraculously be with child, who knew what would happen with Alec and Ara. The Alpha had continued to watch in on Amelia and Alec every once in a while, not believing that after all they had done, Amelia still couldn't manage to become pregnant. Something had to be done, for the Alpha knew Alec was more than capable of creating a life within a woman's womb.
The Alpha decided against his better judgment that he would go and speak to the slave who he knew dabbled in concocting strange herbs and tonics that she used to help some of the pack members with whatever ailments befell them.
"You there, come here." He motioned towards Dahlia. She turned around arching her brow. "I have a name you know." She mouthed off making the Alpha grunt in annoyance. "It matters not. Come here at once!"
Rolling her eyes, she wiped down her hands and walked over to him; standing before him she placed her hands on her hips and looked at him with a bored expression. "Yes?" The Alpha stayed silent for a moment as he stared her up and down taking in her looks. She wasn't a bad looking slave he thought.
She was of fair height, a slender body, not too much curve on her but it mattered not for her face made up for what she lacked in curves. Her lips were a light natural shade of pink almost like the petal of a rose. Her eyes were like small oceans of blue. Small colored dots adorned her face making her look younger than her age. All in all, she was quite a sight to behold.
"Well? I do not have all day to stand around, unlike you who just sits around all day, I have things to do." She gritted her teeth as the Alpha struck her cheek. "Watch the way you speak to me slave; for if you mouth off once more, I'll have that feisty little tongue of yours cut out of your mouth." Dahlia rubbed at her cheek, her eyes glaring daggers at the Alpha who only seemed unfazed by her death glare.
"I know that you meddle with herbs and things, I need you to make something for Amelia to help her conceive. It's been far too long, and she has yet to show any signs of it. Do this and you will earn more freedom than you already have." Dahlia blinked taken back by the Alpha's sudden kindness.
"Does that mean that I can leave the cabin when I please?" She asked arching a brow. "Don't push your luck. You may step outside the cabin, but you are not to leave our premises. I know your kind; you'd leave first given chance." Dahlia bit the inside of her cheek, fighting the urge to give another smart retort. "Fine, I shall do what I can."
The Alpha nodded his head and turned to walk away without as much as a thank you. Dahlia released a breath of air as he disappeared. "Now I'm stuck helping that little imp of a woman. I'd rather rot in the ground than to help her, but I know if I do not, everyone else will suffer for it." She sighed rubbing at her temples. "What to do, what to do..."
Ara walked through the kitchen just then startling Dahlia. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." Dahlia shook her head. "It's fine. I was just deep in thought." She sighed exasperatedly. "What's the matter?" Ara asked as she moved towards her friend and placed a hand on her shoulder in a comforting manner.
"Alec's father wants me to make something to help Amelia get pregnant. He's becoming more and more impatient as time passes." Ara nodded her head knowing all too well how the Alpha felt about the lack of heir from Amelia. "What are you going to do then?" Dahlia shrugged her shoulders.
