22- Oh no, Thor's in a cage; how did this happen?!

"How the hell did you get out of there Skyler?" Pansy gasps as Skyler bites her bottom lip.

"By paying prices," she says after a while, "by swearing oaths as well..." The blonde clutches her right arm in her hand and slowly rolls up the sleeve.

"No way! You haven't... You're not—" Theo exclaims, receiving a glare from Skyler. She rolls up her sleeve faster and shows the snake-tattoo that circles her wrist and a small part of her arm.

"I swore an oath never to forget her," Skyler sobs out, "this is what happens when you swear an oath to a snake..."

"Forget who, Sky?" Draco says, taking his girlfriend in his arms, rocking her back and forth in a calming way. Skyler merely shakes her head and seems to brace herself for another flashback.

"What are these?!" Skyler yells, as she fights off the fury creatures that surround them all.

"If I'm not mistaken, these are Fire Giants..." Vali pants out.

"But they only..." Skyler can't finish her sentence as multiple giants surround her and attack her at once.

"Misss... releassssse me," Kelly swishes from Skyler's wrist.

"I can't Kell, if I do so," Skyler slices two Fire Giants in two, "you'll die."

"But you will be sssssafe," the snake argues, stubborn as its owner, "You jusssst promissse me that you'll never forget my ssssacrifice."

"How could I everforget a companion as great as you, Kelly? You helped me through my first year, and it was a mistake of mine not to find that shrinking spell sooner..." Skyler says sadly, pulling up her sleeve and revealing the now moving snake to the light again. For a minute, the snake grows boiling hot, leaving a tattoo where the snake usually tangled around her wrist.  The green creature then slithers off her wrist and starts to grow, bigger than the snake has ever grown before.

"Run!" Kelly tells Skyler, who nods, a tear running down her cheek as she turns around and helps Vali up. Lorelei and Vali are on the other side of the huge snake, as Skyler sends them a message through Lorelei's mind:

"Hide. Come looking for us tomorrow. I'll take care of Narfi, don't worry."

"Come on, Nar," Skyler grits her teeth, Norns, this man is heavy.

"I'm really trying, but that wound in my leg doesn't exactly help," Narfi hisses back at her.

"My best friend sacrifices herself at the moment for your safety, damn it. Bite through that stupid pain, we'll have time for that later," Skyler tells him, and Narfi's face goes straight.

"Alright, let's get a run," the young man states, as his jaw sets and his entire body seems to tense.

"On my signal, go for those rocks," Skyler says, "I suspect there's a cavern there. We need to get in and stay the night. Tomorrow, we'll get the hell out of here."

Narfi nods and Skyler breathes out the words, careful that the Fire Giants do not hear them, "one; two; three... run!" The cousins both race for the rocks, Narfi panting as they hide behind one.

"We made it!" Skyler whispers happily, throwing him a smile. Narfi grins back sheepishly, and Skyler starts to look around.

"There's a cave over there, I guess... we can stay the night there, and hope that Lore and Val will get the signal I'm going to try and make," Skyler states, biting her bottom lip. Dammit, she is definitely not going to like the conversation that is ahead of her.
