it only stood there, drenched in the shadows of the alley.
just like me.
during the summer time, a group of teenagers played a game. they played in the evening sun and grew pale by nighttime. no cars cut through, no parents tell them to come home, no interruptions. nothing could disrupt the children and their game.
their parents were nowhere to be found. they didn't have family.
even in the winter, grey slush snow and stone cold ravens, i saw them play. i always had the urge to ask if i can join, like today, but something stopped me from doing so.
the teenagers were not there.
i wonder where they went.
however, the hoop was there.
it only stood there, drenched in the shadows of the alley.
just like me.
