Cassidy's eyes opened as she stared up at the ceiling of her own room that she had decided to sleep in since Alaric had broken the curse in the cemetery. She felt happier that she was at home but of course she wasn't happy, happy because she still had the events of the curse running through her mind. Since the curse was broken though she felt it okay to be staying back at home in her own her but a sad feeling tugged at her stomach as she laid there by herself.

She sat upright as she looked around her room her eyes landing on the mirror connected to her dresser that had pictures lining the edges of the mirror. She slowly got off her bed to go look at the pictures as she placed her palms on the dresser, her eyes landing on a picture of her and Elena from graduation. From Elena's graduation anyway because even though they were so close in age she was still too young to be in Elena's class.

"I miss you, Elena. I need my sister," she whispered as her hand lingered on the picture of the both of them with a frown. She wasn't quite sure why she was missing Elena so much right now, but whatever the reason was it was bad because she simply couldn't think of anything to do.

There was a small knock at her door that she had barely paid attention to before it slightly open and her little brother was standing there. His heart broke slightly at the sadness he saw on her face as she looked at the memory but when she noticed him she shook it off. She turned to Jeremy before placing a smile on her face at the sight of her brother.

"Haven't seen you in awhile," she smiled as she walked up to him and wrapped her arms around her little/big brother. She let out a shaky sigh as he wrapped his arms tightly around her as a way of reassuring her he was going to be there. He always promised her he would be there even if he was the baby of the Gilbert's.

"Well, you were trying to kill people," he chuckled. "And you made the right move by remembering Elena killed me when it happened to her. I wouldn't be able to come back this time since the ring doesn't work on me anymore."

She nodded as she frowned because the thought of getting another sibling killed because of her own actions hurt her to think about. She wouldn't know what to do with herself if she was the reason for Jeremy's death, but then again, she wouldn't know what to do anyway if Jeremy died. She pulled back from his chest as she pushed the thought away to look into her brother's eyes.

"How're you holding up?" he rubbed her biceps in a soothing, brotherly way.

"I'm .. okay," she nodded as she didn't want to talk about her feelings. She hated talking about her feelings. He let his mouth open as if to continue the questioning but he decided against it and decided to talk to her about what he really came to talk to her about.

"Miss Mystic Falls - " he started but the brunette interrupted him by shaking her head with her hand up.

"Elena isn't alive."

"Exactly, they need a Gilbert."

"Caroline is just saying that because she doesn't like to see me cooped in the way I have been, but I actually like being cooped up the way I have been and bottling all my feelings. It's healthy," she shrugged nonchalantly as she could faintly hear her phone buzzing on her bed. Jeremy couldn't hear it going off as he continued to listen to her speak. "I'm not doing the pageant this year."

"Actually, you're already signed up," the Forbes vampire squealed begins Jeremy as he sheepishly moved to the side to reveal two excited best friends of his sister's. She threw Jeremy an aggravated glance as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Uh, surprise?"

xXxXx

Cassidy pouted like a little baby as she sat in the back seat of Caroline's car while Bonnie sat in the passenger and the two sang to song loudly (obnoxiously was Cassidy's thought) while they travelled to the dress shop to get their dresses for the Founder's Ball/Miss Mystic Falls Pageant. Cassidy didn't even realize it was getting that time of the year but she barely wanted to even do it since Elena wasn't here because they was something they always enjoyed doing together.
