Chapter Seventeen of A Prevailing Love

The next few days had consisted of Damon or Stefan or sometimes Caroline and Bonnie of course switching on time slots of sitting with Cassidy in Damon's room as the awaited her to wake up from the unconscious state she was in. While one of the three were staying with Cassidy, the other two were out accompanied by Alaric and Bonnie to search for Hanna to find answers as to why she had gotten Cassidy into the trouble she did.

They still had no sign of the Petrova doppelgänger and occasionally Alaric would have to leave to continue trying to prepare his things to move to Whitmore.

During one of Bonnie's turns to sit with Cassidy, she had overheard the brunette talking in her sleep and she spoke of the name Draken in which the witch made sure to inform the brothers of the reveal. None of the Mystic Falls gang had ever heard of the name Draken before, leaving them with yet something else to research.

Day three of Cassidy's unconscious state, Bonnie was sitting on the bed next to her brunette friend as she was reading a history book over ancient supernatural creatures Alaric had given her for research on hopefully finding something that could lead them to Draken. Bonnie figured he had to be a witch or something for some of the injuries she could get from Cassidy's time away was like Kai Parker's.

She had gotten to a page where Alaric had written the name "Silas" beside the description that brought her memories of her father being killed when she had been a ghost. She frowned as she read the description until she had jumped five feet when one of her best friends had shot awake.

Cassidy gripped onto the sheet after shooting up into a sitting position as she had began taking uneven breaths uncontrollably as they slowly turned into sobs. Bonnie reacted quickly as she threw the book to the side then got onto her knees to face the vampire.

"Cass?" she slowly touched her shoulder and as she had begun to do that the younger brunette had leaned herself into Bonnie's shoulder. Bonnie let out a worried sigh as she put her arms around Cassidy whom continued to sob.

"It's over now, Cass. It's over."

Bonnie and Cassidy has moved downstairs to the living area as they awaited for Stefan, Damon and Caroline to get back. The younger of the two chewed on the inside of her lip as she looked around anxiously. Every small sound had set her on edge since she had woken up and Bonnie couldn't help but to feel horrible for her.

"Cass ... " Bonnie trailed off and only regretted it when the vampire had jumped before looking to one of her best friends. Cassidy let out a deep shaky breath as she let a small smile take on her lips to try to prove she was okay.

"Yeah, Bon?"

"Stefan told me to tell you that the freezer down in the cellar has some animal blood in it if you need to feed. Actually, he said you have to feed so by the time he gets home you better have drank one bag," Bonnie tried to lighten the mood as she laughed a little as she read Stefan's words from her phone.

Cassidy smiled as she heard the worrisome words of her best friend while giving a nod to the dark-skinned girl in response. She got up from her perch on the couch down make her way to the cellar to feed because she figured it would smarter to please Stefan rather than fight him about it.

As Cassidy disappeared down the stairs to the cellar, Bonnie got onto her phone rather quickly as she sent Stefan a quick text to hurry home for the wakened vampire's sake. Just as she had sent that text to Stefan the door to the boarding house had opened leaving an-on-edge Bonnie to hurry that way to see whom it was, and when she had seen Stefan and Damon carrying Hannabella by the biceps with a trailing Caroline, her eyes had widened to the size of saucers.
