~Chapter 16~

-KATHERINE'S P.O.V.-

His touch sparked fireworks in me. The way his hands held onto my waist made me want him more. His lips were like an addiction I never wanted to let go of. The way he held onto me.

"Katherine"

I shot my eyes open and and sat up on my bed. Sophie was standing at the doorway.

"I've been calling you for the past minute, are you ready?"

"Yeah, sorry I was spacing off"
I said getting off from the bed and grabbing my purse.

"Okay, come on let's go"

We walked downstairs. I put on my heels and fixed my dress as we made our way out the front door. I walked over to the passenger seat of the car and got in. We were headed to Baylee's funeral session at the cemetery.

"Ready?"
Sophie asked.

"Yeah"

I looked out the window as she drove off. The sun was setting already making the sky various shades of orange and yellow. I fixed the seelve of my dress so my cut or bruised arm wouldn't show. Sophie would feak out if she found out. I looked at my phone as it vibrated. It was a message from an unknown number.

Message Unknown:
(Hey, where are you)

I looked at the message confused. Who could this be. I was about to text them back when another message came through.

Message Unknown:
(Sorry, it's Jonah. Jack gave me your number)

Jack? Since when does he have my number. Better yet why is Jonah texting me? Does he think I want to see his face after what happened earlier?

Message Unknown:
(Text me when you can)

Text him? Why does he want me to text him. I slid my phone inside my bag and looked out the window. We were pulling up to the cemetery. I never liked being around cemeteries, they always brought back bad memories.

"Come on let's go"

We got off and headed towards Baylee's family. Most of the school was here and half of the town. I saw Joseph with Andrea and Mark we stood next to the other people that were here.

"Where were you after school, I tried looking for you but I couldn't find you?"
I turned to see Zach next to me.

"I umm I was with my Chemistry teacher, I needed help with an assignment"
I said trying to lie as best as I could.

He nodded his head and looked at the other side where more people had come.

"Why isn't Kay with you?"
I asked.

She was talking to some people from school. Weird since she's always with Zach.

"We had an issue"

"Issue? Like what?"

"Let's talk about it later"

I looked around trying to recognize who was here. Most of the people were from school, though Baylee had attitude people still cared about her and they always will. The sadness in their faces showed it.

I saw as Nana walked over to us, she was with Daniel, Corbyn, and Christina. Did they all know each other?

"Nana, you're here"
Sophie asked.

"Yes dear, I had to come show my respect and love to this beautiful family that lost their daughter"
