~Chapter 17~

             -KATHERINE'S P.O.V.-

It's been a week since I've last seen Jonah. Him and Jack haven't been coming to school. I thought of going to their house and checking if everything is okay, but I don't want them to get the wrong idea. Maybe they decided not to come to school, maybe they are like this. I was going to ask Zach about it, but I know he doesn't like Jonah. Aside from that I can't really talk to Zach since he's been upset these past few days, he seem to be getting mad at everything. I've been noticing him and Kay aren't talking, they try to avoid each other as much as possible, I would ask but I don't think it's my place to ask. I've been hanging out with Daniel, Corbyn, and Christina this past week and surprisingly it doesn't bother Zach. Another person I have been getting close to is Joseph.

"Hey Katherine, want to go out for lunch"
It was Joseph, he was waiting for me after class.

"Sure, let me just drop of some of my books at my locker"

"Let's go"

We walked towards my locker as some of our classmates looked at us. I've heard a couple of them mostly girls talking about me and Jospeh, saying I took out the competition and I knew exactly what they meant. It was obvious they still think it was me who was responsible for Baylee's death.

"I was thinking we could go to the local diner and get something or we can get whatever you want"

"I'm okay with anything as long as we eat"
I said putting my books in my locker.

"Cool, let's go"

We walked out of school and headed towards his car. Jospeh was known as the guy at our school, there would be girls from other school that would come visit him because of how good looking he was and also because he is known for being the famous quarter back in out team. We were about to get in his car when someone called out to him.

"Joseph, mind if we tag along?"
It was Mark and Andrea.

Andrea hates me I can tell by the way she looks at me when we bump into each other at the lockers or when she sees me hanging out with Joseph who just happens to be one of her bestfriends.

"Sure if that's okay with you?"
Joseph said looking at me.

"Yeah, it okay, no problem with me"

We all got in the car. Mark and Andrea sat in the back seat while I sat in the front with Joseph. The ride to the diner was quiet only the music playing in the car. Once we arrived we got off and walked inside and walked to a table. Mark and Andrea sat across the table from me and Joseph.

"What should we get?"
Mark said looking at the menu.

"Baylee use to love to come here, we would come here after every football game"
Andrea managed to say before breaking down into tears. Joseph and Mark looked at each other before looking at me.

"I'm sorry Katherine, it's just that..."
I cut him off before he could say anything else.

"Don't worry about it, she was your friend after all, it's normal for her to be reminded of her"
I knew exactly how she felt, how they all felt.

"How would you know how it feels to loose someone?"
Andrea said wiping her tears.

"I lost my mom around three years ago, everywhere I went reminded me of her" I said looking at her.

"Let's just order and get out of here" She called the waitress and looked at the menu.

We ordered and waited for the our food to arrive, somehow she manages to balme me for something I didn't do.
