Kira and I didn't do anything too big. We would've gone to the café and ate there, but we didn't want to be in the way of Scarlet and Jason. I knew for sure we would've been a distraction. So, we went somewhere else and simply talked and enjoyed each other's company.

She's honestly amazing and I wouldn't want to spend this day with anyone else.

We finished our food a while ago. We aren't really going anywhere right now so we're just sitting here. "So, how do you think Scarlet's doing," I ask her.

I want to keep the conversation going so it wouldn't be awkward, but I also wanted to calm my nerves. Even then, I'm pretty sure it's that injection they gave me on Monday. I was never able to cool off after that. I even sat in the snow and I was pretty sure I saw steam because I was so hot.

But I don't want to think about it too much. Especially now.

"I think she's doing well actually. She knows how to handle herself," she said, and that's true. "Yeah, you're right. But we are about to mess with her with this. She would do the same to us," I said, on the verge of laughing.

Kira was about to laugh as well, but then she read a text that popped up on her phone. Her smile faded away. "Something's wrong, it's Scarlet." And that's all she had to say. We started to make our way towards her.

"Hey, if we're not doing anything after this, I was thinking we could watch a movie or something at my house," I asked kind of quickly. "Sure. That would be nice," she said softly, giving a slight smile. I couldn't help but relax a little. But right now, we need to focus on Scarlet.

As we're walking down the street, I get a text from her, saying that she was headed to her house. I text her back that we're on the way. "She's going to her house so we're going to meet her there," I said, putting my phone back. "That's a long walk, even for her by herself. Do you think she would want to meet somewhere closer if it's urgent," Kira asked. I had to think about for a second, then I took my phone back out to call her.

"Hey, where are you," I asked into the phone. "I'm on the street with all of our neighborhoods. How about you guys?"
"We're actually one street away from that. Just go to my house. No one's there at the moment but we're right behind you," I said, starting to walk a little faster. "Ok then, see you in a little bit," Scarlet said, hanging up.

Not that I'm saying it won't, but I really hope something comes out of this. A lot has happened the past week and none of it makes sense. I just hope we get some type of answer soon...

...

We made it to my house. Scarlet was sitting on the stairs in front of the door. "Hey guys. How was your date," Scarlet asked with a huge smile on her face. "Actually it was pretty good," I said, unlocking the door, "how about yours?"
"It was great until something happened. We'll talk inside," she said and we walked inside.

Once we settled down, Scarlet went into everything that has happened. Her day was going so well and I feel bad that this had to get in the way. She showed us the little water trick and it was so mesmerizing. The only thought that came to mind at the time was that both Kira and Scarlet had these abilities and I'm the only one who didn't. This worried me a little bit because what if there's something wrong?

"We need to talk to Maya," Scarlet suddenly says. "We probably know, but we need to figure out what's going on and why. I'm getting tired of being in the dark," I said, sitting down on the couch. Kira sat next to me. "I tried to get something out of Maya but she knows what she's doing. But now that Scarlet has this "power" per se, she'll probably want to see her now as well," she said.

I started to heat up. This keeps happening and it's becoming annoying. My vision started fading in and out and I need to stand up. I get up and walk towards the kitchen to get some water. "Max? Are you ok," I heard Kira ask, but I didn't answer her. I slowly open the fridge, not realizing how hard my grip was on the handle. "Max," Kira asked, sounding more concerned this time. I wanted to say something, but I just couldn't open my mouth at the moment. The heat was becoming unbearable, but I was able to grab a water bottle. I close the door and when I turned around, Kira was standing in front of me.

"I'm fine," I managed to say. "No, you're not," she said, "I can see the heat waves coming off of you." I couldn't hear anything after that. I felt water in my hands and I look down to see a melted bottle and steam forming at my feet. This hasn't happened before and all I could do is stand there and go through it.

All of a sudden, I felt the ice. Well, I thought it was ice.

It was Kira, giving me a hug. She was literally ice cold, if not colder. I could feel myself gaining my senses back and cooling off. I hugged her back. "Thank you," I said, quietly. "Of course," she said, letting go.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your moment, but let's just acknowledge the fact that the house almost went up in flames," Scarlet said, throwing away some burnt papers that were on the counter. "Well, I hope those weren't too important," I said and they started to laugh.

I thought of what just happened. I'll have to experiment with it later. I heard my phone go off as that thought went through my mind.

I went to go see what it was. It's from an unknown number.

Come to the field at the park. Monday. Four o'clock.

"You guys got it too," Kira asked. "It's probably Maya," Scarlet said, tossing her phone on the couch. "How did she know," Kira said to herself. None of us said anything.

It's going to be an interesting weekend...
