I'm really late, I know. But I needed time to make sure I got everything I wanted in this chapter. So it's here. I also personalize the cover more.

Notice the time.

The day is Saturday. I slept in like always. I don't have any work to do, thank god. I think I speak for every student when I say that I'm done and I'm ready for school to be over. I just need to last a month and then we reach summer. As fast as they have gone by, this might be the slowest month of the year.

I check the time. It's a little after eleven, so I still have plenty. Max, Kira, Jason, and I are going to meet at the park at two to hang out, and then we would go to the café. The weather is actually not that bad today even though it's been crazy. We should enjoy it now while it's here. I get up and start my regular routine. I went to grab my bracelet off of my nightstand and stopped. This might not be a good idea but I'm going to leave it at home today. Today is a day of relaxing and I don't was to feel restricted by wearing it. Besides, nothing's going to happen to set my element off.

Hopefully...

...

I heard the doorbell while I was getting my things together. It must be Kira. She said she was coming because she didn't want me to walk alone. I went to open the door.

"Hey Kira. Come in. I'm just finishing up," I said, gesturing her inside. "Okay," she said walking in. "It's really nice outside. If only Georgia can stay like this," she said as she sat down at the table. "I know right. I hope the weather is more consistent during the summer," I said, "Well I'm ready when you are."
"Okay then." And we left.

We met Max as he was leaving his neighborhood. The park isn't that far of a walk so we should be there in time. Everything is so calm.

It's unsettling...

"Hey Scarlet," I heard Kira say. She had the biggest smile on her face. "Everything will be just fine," she said and she put her arm around me. "How could you know what I was thinking about?"
"Cuz I can read minds," she said and Max rolled his eyes. "Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised," I said with a slight chuckle.

"You know, that actually be a cool power," she started, forming two icicles and twirling them like drumsticks. We just kinda looked at her. "What are you doing," Max asked her. "I needed something to fidget with," she shrugged. He shook his head. "Just don't hit me with them," he said. "No promises," she said, walking ahead. "You should probably get rid of those soon. The park's down the street," I warn her, "and you don't know if Jason's around."

"That's true," she started. She threw the ice in the air, caught it, and threw it to the ground. It shattered and quickly melted away. "Oh my- you're so extra," Max said as he walked past her and started to smile. I kept up with him, leaving Kira behind. "What? You got to admit it was cool," she said catching up.

We walked into the entrance and Jason wasn't too far from it. He had two blankets, saying we could just lay on them in the open field and enjoy the weather. No distractions. It was absolutely perfect. I think we all really needed this. Just a day where we didn't have to worry about school, work, elements, and anything else that could've been stressing us out. Just a day to let go. I don't think there's anything that could get in the way of this.

And I mean it this time.

I woke up this morning to find that Jason wasn't here. I knew he had plans today so I wasn't surprised. I was surprised, however, that I woke up so late. It's almost one o'clock. I got ready for my day of no training and relaxing. I guess we are all having one today.
