I suggest popcorn for 15. I really do. A late rainy night with some popcorn. In the dark, might I add? How relaxing...

Matter of fact, read both parts at night. I just think it fits better.

Have fun.

Sleep hurts. It's torturing. But I had to do it.

I woke up and started to feel something warm trickling down my nose. I sigh and grab the towel I was given. This is the second nose bleed I've had since I've been here. And I've never had one in my life.

I have a good view of a clock on one of the walls. It's right under the table that held the key to get us out.

I can estimate that we were out for a day and a half at most after the Africa incident. Then a couple of hours passed until Alex came and took the guys. It's been almost six hours since then.

The slowest six hours of my life.

It's one of those school clocks. It's faint, but I can hear every second go by as I sit here. Drying up like a raisin. Unable to help the people that I care about the most...

I need water.

At least they bring us some type of refreshment so we don't die, but it's not enough. I tried. My powers barely work so I have no choice but to drink the little water I'm given. Don't get me wrong, it's the most relieving feeling I will ever have at the moment. But it is not enough.

Maya's sitting on the floor. Staring at the metal wall of her cell. She looks... out of it. If that makes sense. I know she had an outburst when Alex came in but I'm not sure what it was about. I couldn't hear her. She was upset though.

Kira's right next to me. She's hasn't moved an inch and I'm really worried. At least the last time she was out like this, she woke up a couple of hours later. The only difference is this is because it's too hot for her apparently. I remember Max saying that she was burning the last time, but that was because she was too cold.

This is all too complicated to comprehend at the moment. One thing at a time Scarlet.

I placed the towel down in the corner and rest my head against the wall. Jason didn't say anything to me when they left. I wasn't really expecting anything, but at least tell me what your planning and not leave me in the dark. He has mentioned what he wanted to do while we were in Africa or while we were jumping around for supplies. But everything was in bits and pieces. Nothing I could put together in a coherent thought.

I bring myself back to reality and look back at the clock. The seconds ring in my ear, louder than before. Forty minutes.

I just felt like I went through ten different thoughts in what felt like ten seconds. I don't know how deep every thought went, but either way, it felt weird.

I've always been told how smart I was. We all have. Now especially since we're in high school, with the school we go to. And there's nothing wrong with it. It's nice. But compared to elementary and middle school, I think everyone will agree with me when I say that being intelligent then is completely different from being intelligent now.

Movement interrupted my train of thought. I sat up and saw Maya waving her arms around, trying to get my attention. I stood up to let her know that I saw her. She then put her hand to her ear. I assumed that it meant to listen so I listened carefully. I heard the clock, of course. But that was it.

I looked at her and shrugged. I mouthed the clock? She shook her head no and pointed up. I looked up and saw nothing but the ceiling. I returned a confused look and she rolled her eyes. She pointed at the table and I looked at it. It was off the ground. It took me a while but then my eyes widen.

The humming.

That's why the clock sounded louder after a while. When did her cell turn off? How long did it take for her to recover? Clearly, she needed the time to recover from that, right? Why was her cell the only one that stopped working?...

I looked at her and she looked like she wanted to say something, but of course, I wouldn't hear her.

I heard the door open and two guards walk in with Liam in front. "Hurry up, we're on a schedule here," he said, sounding a lot like Alex when he did.  One of the guards walked up to her cell and swiped the key card and they opened the door. She walked out hesitantly but followed what they had ordered her to do. "We'll be back in a couple of hours for you," Liam said to me, keeping the same tone he had before. His eye did a slight twitch and it looked like he was fighting a smile. Maybe it was more of a discreet wink? If he's trying to act, then he's not really doing a good job.

Either way, they made their way out of the room, but not before I saw something float in front of me.

The key card.

It swiped in front of both mine and Kira's lock, not making a sound. Then it went back into the guard's pocket and they left without another word.

I waited a couple of minutes before I left my cell and quickly ran for the water they had in the corner. This is all I needed. I can feel myself getting better already. After taking in as much as I can, if not more, I quickly go get Kira out. The cell has cooled off since I opened the door beforehand and, luckily, she did too.

I caught a glimpse of the reflection in the glass. I seemed to be back to normal. Well, almost normal.

My eyes are blue. A deep blue but nothing that looked unnatural. It actually looks kind of nice.

But back to the situation at hand, I need to cool her off and wake her up.

Then we can finally find a way out of here.
