(Marauders era) Remus Lupin x depressed reader.

Hey peeps! This will be in Remus' point of view, because I need there to be some more info and to make the story more interesting. Please don't skip this, it is IMPORTANT to the plot.

After Y/n left the library to go sleep or whatever, James, Sirius, and I decided we should go to the lunch room to eat. I was really concerned for Y/n's mental and physical health. She was always trying not to get to close and had a really hard time concentrating. I had read somewhere that, that those were some signs for mental illness, I just don't remember what.

We walked into the lunch room and sat down at our usual spots. The food was already there and people were already filling their plates completely. After helping Y/n, I decided that I wasn't very hungry and decided to walk over to Lily to tell her to wake up Y/n for Herbology. 

"What do you want?" Lily seemed to hate me because of James and Sirius' little "practical joke." I decided I couldn't start a friendly conversation, so I just got straight to the point. 

"I need you to do me a favor," I stated. 

"Depends, does it involve any pranks?" she asked. 

"No. I just need you to wake up Y/n in time for Herbology, since she decided to go take a nap or something. I'd do it myself, but boys can't go into the girls dorms," I explained.

"I can do that, but only cause Y/n's my friend." I walked back to my seat and started to eat a small roll.

"I'm worried about Y/n," James said out of the blue. "I know I've only known her for like two days, but I really care about her."

"We all do, and I don't really understand why she's been so closed off around us. It's like she scared to get close to anyone." I said.

"Yeah, I agree." 

We ended up eating the rest of lunch in silence. I was listening to the random conversations happening around when I heard Y/n mentioned, so I decided to listen. 

"You know Y/n?" 

"Oh, that freak?" 

"Yeah, the halfblood." 

"I hear she's friends with the boys!" 

"Why would they ever be friends with someone as ugly as her?" 

"We could beat her up after Herbology. I know a hex or two from my older sister." 

"That's a great idea!" 

"Shh, Remus is looking at us, he can't know about our plans." 

I turned to James and Sirius to see if they heard what I did. By the looks on their faces, they did. James tried to walk over to them before I stopped him. 

"We have to wait, it's not worth it right now." 

"Fine, but if they lay one finger on her, I'm gonna kill them, revive them, and kill them again. Y/n isn't a freak," James said. 

"I know." 

We ended up in Herbology early, waiting for Y/n.
