“Ayako, no!”
Ayako was barely able to register Dong Min's yell before it happened.
She was hit by her own dagger. By her own dagger!
“Oh my God, Ayako!” Dong Min whined.
“Shut up, you sissy!” Ayako growled.
She wasn't hurt badly. Her reflexes were fast and the dagger wasn't thrown properly in the first place.
But now, whoever was attacking them had successfully made her angry, really angry.
She glared at the general direction of the enemy. She knew where he was. The stupid guy had unwittingly revealed his position by using her dagger. She knew her dagger well so she knew where it came from just from where it landed.
She grinned menacingly and with lightning speed advanced on the enemy, Eiji covering for her again. He was using guns and knives this time and if she weren't so focused on revenge right now, she would have been envious that he was able to pull that off perfectly.
She threw her daggers and swiftly avoided the counterattacks. What she couldn't avoid, Eiji took care of for her. She'd never admit it out loud but they make a good team.
The enemies were only a short distance away from the house so not a moment too soon, Ayako and Eiji was able to catch them.
Ayako held her katana (that was on her waist earlier), dangerously close to one of the enemies' throat. Ayako was guessing he was the one who dared to throw her own dagger back to her. He was also the only one who was conscious. The others had either left, running for their lives while the remaining ones were strewn on the ground, dead or dying.
“Why were you attacking us?! Talk!” Ayako hissed to the man.
The man refused to talk.
Ayako sneered. “Being difficult, aren't we?”
To her surprise, Eiji grabbed the man from her and motioned to the house. “I'll take care of this. Go back to the house. Your friend must be wetting his pants right now.”
Ayako scoffed but decided to follow Eiji's command. Like I said, he is a natural born leader.
“Hmp. Alright. You're lucky,” she said to the unknown man. Then she looked at Eiji's grim face. “Or not.”
At least with her, she would have spared his life, even if she would of course have cut some vital parts of his body. But she knew that look on Eiji. It was the face he had on when he would have to directly kill a person.
“Make him talk, Eiji,” she called back as she walked back to the house.
When she reached the house, he found Dong Min unconscious but otherwise, unharmed, which was a good thing since she would had have a hell of a hard time trying to explain to his parents why their precious son had gunshots on his body otherwise.
