(Savannah)
I couldn’t believe how much those two simple things had changed my looks! I looked like an actual punk! Point for the awkward penguins! After we got our hair done (should that sound so weird to say with your boyfriend?) we roamed around the city and hung out with some fans. It was perfect until I heard what two of them were laughing about.
“Does she know how bad she looks?” a girl who had introduced herself as Megg said.
“Does Michael?” her friend Beka snickered. Of course Michael couldn’t hear a word of this, and they knew that I could.
“She is so just using him, or, maybe he’s using her.” I walked over to Mikey and leaned my head in his shoulder while he talked to a fan. I heard a gasp and looked behind me to see what it was. A girl that hadn’t gotten to talk to Mikey yet was yelling at the two girls that were snickering.
“She is to beautiful, you bimbos! They obviously love each other. If you’ve ever watched the Keeks then you should know this. Plus, he dyed his hair with her. He’s never done that with anyone before!”
I walked over to her and gave her a huge hug. “Thank you so much for standing up for me. You have no clue how much that means to me. What’s your name?”
“Margie, and it was no problem. I hate seeing populars pick on other people just because they think they’re better.”
I made sure she got a special meeting with Michael that included a Twitter follow and a kiss on the cheek. When we had to leave she still had a happy Cheshire cat smile in her face. Mikey and I practically ran back to the hotel after that.
By now it was getting dark, and I for one did not like the idea of being outside in New York at night. We got to the hotel without running into anything, thank goodness! He wouldn’t let me take the elevator, so we raced up twelve flights of stairs. When we got to our room we were both out of breath. I opened the door and all the other guys jumped out at us yelling “SURPRISE!” They all stopped halfway through the word as they saw my hair and the tattoo.
“You turned her into a right punk!” Niall laughed. Ashton, Luke, and Calum all walked up to me and started playing with my hair like they just couldn’t believe it. When they ran off somewhere in the room Harry came up and looked at my tattoo intently.
“It looks really good, but why a dream catcher? Why not something like a rose or a skull?” he asked after a minute. Michael was still right by my side since none of us trusted Harry to be alone with me.
“I chose a dream catcher because in Native American legends they’re supposed to trap and get rid of any bad dreams a person could have had while they were sleeping.”
“Why is that important?”
I took a deep breath. “I used to have really terrible nightmares almost every night, so I kind of took to the legend.” I found this version of the story the normal version, but all of the guys still looked like they pitied me.
“I didn’t know. I’m sorry.”
“For what? You had no clue and I never wanted any of you to know.”
“How come you don’t want us to know anything about your past or your life before you moved?” Calum asked.
“Do you just not trust us?” Luke accused.
“No, I don’t trust anyone.” No sense lying now. They all started accusing me of things and yelling insults at me. “I don’t trust anyone because of what my parents did to me!”
“SAVANNAH, WAKE UP!” I heard Ashton yell as I nearly jumped out of bed. All of the guys were crowded around me looking worried.
“What happened and where am I?” I croaked. As soon as the words left my lips I had to cradle my head in my hands. I had the worst headache ever!
“Louis and Harry managed to slip a bit, no, a lot of alcohol into your drinks and got you drunk to the point of passing out last night,” Luke explained.
“I’m going to kill them,” I groaned after I realized they weren’t there. I fell back against my pillow and whimpered as my head hit the soft surface. They unwillingly got me drunk and I now had to suffer for it, great. When they didn’t leave I remembered something about when I sleep. “I didn’t talk in my sleep did I?”
“Not enough for us to understand any of it, but yeah, you did,” Ashton answered in a low voice. The good thing was at least they knew how to treat someone with a hangover.
“Alright, now what are you all still doing in here? You’ve got lives to live and things to pack.” They all lightly laughed and ran to their own rooms to pack for our trip the next day. I had packed the majority of mine and Michael’s stuff the day before my birthday, so he insisted on trying to make me feel better with cuddles.
