"You like it?" Yuri asks. I look up from her poem.
"Uh, yeah!" I say, unable to contain with the dreadedness that that poem talks about.
"Good! I thought that the poem would be good for others to relate to since many of us have these 'unusual hobbies.'" She says, "And I thought it would be best to write about my own."
"Well, what your 'unusual hobby'?" I ask. I already know what the answer is, though, but I want to see what she says.
"I.." She stutters, and looks to the side, embarrassed like she always does. "Never mind that. I kind of get embarrassed to talk about it."
"Well," I say, "I understand that Yuri. You don't have to share anything you're not comfortable with." I smile.
"Well," She says, smiling back, "Thank you, Monika."
I wonder if her arm has those cuts. I glance at it. Her uniform slightly covers it, but there is a slight blood stain. She probably has no idea.
"Heh." I laugh.
"Your poem.. is a bit.."
Her voice trails off.
"Strange?" I ask.
"No not that." She says, "It's just a bit hard for me to understand. But, I do like it. I don't hate it at all, Monika. It's, far more unique then yesterday's."
"Oh." I say, "Well, same for you then."
"See ya later, Monika!" She says and walks away.
Well, I'm finally done with everyone. Everyone heads back into their seats. Instead, I head to the usual spot of being in front of the classroom.
"Okay everyone!" I call my usual greeting as always, "We're all done reading each other's poems, right?" Silence.
"I have something extra planned for today, so if everyone could come sit at the front of the room." I say.
"Is this about the festival?" Natsuki asks, there is a hint of whininess in her voice.
"Well sort of-" I say, but she cuts me off.
"Ugh. Do we really have to do something for the festival? It's not like we can put together anything good in just a few days. We'll just end up embarrassing ourselves instead of getting any new members." Natsuki complains.
"U-" I say. I get interrupted once more.
"That's a concern of mine as well." Yuri says, "I don't really do well with last minute preparations."
"Don't worry so much!" I say. It's seriously just the festival. I'm sure they've seen it before. What are they so worried about?
"We're gonna keep it simple, okay?" I say, "We won't need much more than a few decorations. Sayori has been working on posters, and I've designed some pamphlets we can give out during the event."
Natsuki scoffs.
"Okay, that's great and all," She says, "But that doesn't tell us what we're actually going to be doing for the event."
"Ah, sorry, I thought you've heard about it already," I say, "We're going to be performing!"
Natsuki gives me a questionable look.
"Performing?" She asks.
"P-" Yuri stutters, "Um, Monika."
"Yeah! We're gonna be having a poetry performance." I explain, "Each of us are going to choose a poem to recite during the event. But the cool part is, we're also going to let anyone else come up and recite poems too! Sayori's putting it on all the posters in case anyone wants to prepare ahead of time."
