It's been a few months since Izuku started training for UA's entrance exam. I haven't been able to join him and dad for training yet because I've been busy preparing myself. But from what dad was telling me, Izuku still has a very, very long way to go. But today, I decided to drop by and see for myself.I decided to throw on a simple [F/C] hoodie and some black leggings. I don't care if it's hot outside I'm gonna wear a hoodie. Deal with it. Dad told me they trained at the beach so I started making my way there. I'd only been to the beach once and from what I remember, you couldn't even tell it was a beach. 'I wonder what they're doing there.'
I finally got to the beach and could see Izuku running around holding a tire, dad yelling something inaudible to me to him. I made my way over to them. "Hiya!" I yelled.
"[F/N]? What are doing here?" Izuku asked, stopping his running.
"Just coming to see how your trainings going. What exactly are you doing?" I asked pointing to the tire hanging over his arm. That's when my dad came over and joined the conversation.
"I'm having him clean this whole section of the beach," he said, motioning outwards.
"Oh. I didn't expect your training to be so easy Izuku. You really dodged a bullet!" I said smiling brightly at him. His jaw dropped to the ground.
"This is easy for you?!" He exclaimed. I awkwardly scratched the back of my neck, nodding.
"Now [F/N]," dad started "You have to remember that most people aren't as advanced as you are." He finished putting a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to him and nodded with a smile.
"I'll remember. So," I clapped my hands together "What can I do to help? I want to make Izuku as strong as he can be!" Izuku blushed at my words. I couldn't help but smile. 'He's so adorable when he's flustered.'
"Hmm." Dad thought for a moment. "Follow me." I followed him to a strangely large fridge-like thing. "Sit on this." I did "Midoriya is going to pull this with you on top of it. That will make it a little more challenging with a person as well." He said and Izuku started pulling me and the fridge. I tried really hard to encourage him, and I think it was working. He did really well!
The next few months seemed to fly past us. You could really see Izuku's improvement as they did. And I was really proud of myself as well. I was able to increase my own quirk's power as well. One thing I've been really focusing on is making objects out of ice. I think it's going pretty well if I do say so myself. And before either Izuku or I knew it...
The day had come
The morning of the exam dad and I had woke up really early to drive to the beach and check on Izuku. The sun was just starting to rise as we parked our car. As we started walking to the beach we heard a sort of battle cry. I looked up to see-
"Izuku," I mumbled to myself. There he was. Stood atop a mound of trash yelling his heart out to the rising sun ahead of him. I smiled, 'He did it.'
Dad and I rushed over. "Hey hey, holy crap kid," Dad said looking over the spotless beach with amazement. "You even cleaned outside of the area I told you to. Seriously, there's not a speck of trash left in sight!"
"Only a little time to spare but you went past what you needed to!" I exclaimed "Good work Izuku!"
"Oh my...oh my...GOODNESS!" Dad yelled changing into his hero form. I looked up to Izuku to see him wobbling. 'Oh no.' He started to fall but luckily I was able to catch him before he hit the ground.
"Don't overwork yourself, buddy." I looked at him worriedly. He gave me a reassuring smile so I would know he indeed was alright. I set him down on the now spotless beach.
"Excellent work Young Midoriya!" Dad called walking over to the two of us.
"I did it All Might." He said weakly "I did everything. Do you think I'm ready now?"
"Yeah. You did good kid. I've gotta say, I'm impressed! I knew you had it in you but this here has exceeded my expectations!" He looked at me and nodded. I nodded back and pulled out my phone.
"Izuku, look at this." I showed him a picture of when he first started his training. The old, scrawny Izuku Midoriya I've know for years. "This was you ten months ago." I put my phone away.
"And look at you now! You've come so far!" Dad exclaimed from behind. "There's still a long road ahead of you before you can inherit my full power. But," He outstretched his arms to display the mounds of garbage behind him that Izuku himself had wiped from the beach's surface. "It's starting to look like you can do it!"
Izuku looked down and brought his hand to his face. "All Might...[F/N]...do I deserve this? Are you sure?" We both looked at him with confusion.
"Izuku, what do you mean?" I questioned, tilting my head to the side.
"You've both put so much time and energy into helping me." Tears started to stream down his face. "How did I get so lucky?"
"Oh, Izu," I said bringing him into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me. I could feel his tears wetting my shirt sleeve but that didn't matter. "If anyone deserves this, trust me, it's you." He nodded into my shoulder. I pulled away and smiled at him, which, unsurprisingly, made him go red.
"T-thanks [N/N]."
"Remember," Dad started again "Your hard work did this. Not mine nor [F/N]'s. Now, Izuku Midoriya, it is time for your reward!"
"Y-yes sir!" Dad pulled a single blond hair from his head, holding it out.
"Someone once told me there's a difference between being lucky and deserving. One's an accident, one's a reward. Never get the two confused. Take that to heart young man. You have earned this gift with your own strength and efforts."
Izuku face then turned to pure determination. That went away real quick when dad said, "Eat this." I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the face he made. "To inherit my power you have to swallow some of my DNA that's how it works." Dad said rubbing the back of his neck.
"S-sorry. This just isn't exactly how I imagined it."
"Come on! There's no time! You'll be late for the exam! Eat! Eat! EAT!"
'This is gonna be a long day.'
