Ódr as we've learned is supposedly the husband of Freyja.
I came to realize that he was another of Snorri's creations. Centuries later when historians and the likes began to learn more about our Deities this is another reason why they assumed Freyja and Frigg are the same because of Ódr is a play on Odin.
Snorri added stuff to make things more exciting or dramatic so we're not surprised.
