I am a Heathen because I've always felt I connection with the religion and I've always felt like the gods that I worship have been there for me more than the Christian God that I did worship at one point.
If I needed a strength boost during a time I needed it Magni was there if I needed to get by with something regarding knowledge Odin gave me guidance. When I prayed to God nothing ever happened. And to be honest I wasn't really happy being a Methodist. It was miserable to me. I did not at all belong. I've been to multiple churches of different dominions but it was all the same for me. Just sadness.
I've also had experiences with some things as well. One of the most awing experiences I guess you could say was when I remembered seeing the faces of women in the water near a pier. It wasn't my imagination nor was it foam or a debris.
Since Germany at one point was a Nordic country. (My ancestors are technically Saxon but we and Vikings did worship the same beings) I thought it would be best if I followed the religion of my ancestors and I'm doing just that.
This isn't really a reason but more of a weird sign. As I've mentioned before it is Freyja traveling across the night sky that causes the Northern Lights. Well, on the night of my birth the Aurora Borealis shown all the way to Illinois. The state that I was born at.
My current Altar. I plan on making effigies of every Deity, Hulder, and Nix. But, I'm having trouble with material.
