I tossed my dirty clothes into a laundry hamper right after changing. I hear heavy footsteps hitting the hallway floor so I'm not surprised when the door swings open to reveal Reece. His fists are clenched and his eyes are narrowed in my direction.
"Where the hell did you go last night?" He growls rushing towards me. "I know you were at the damn party."
"Seriously Reece? I think I'm fairly capable of making my own decisions." I tell him, crossing my arms over my chest. I raise one eyebrow up to shoot him a warning glare.
"Well thanks to you I had to leave the party early to try and find your ass." He spats angrily at me. "Who'd you leave with?"
My breathing hitches and I think back to the two headlights that flashed before my eyes last night. I could've gotten hurt or worse, I know. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I decided to wander off?
"I was well over drunk so a girl from chem let me crash at her place for the night." I lie. I don't normally lie to Reece but he's too oblivious to realize I'm even doing it.
If I told him the truth who knows how this conversation would end. If I told him I was with any guy for that matter Reece would flip.
"What's her name?" He says, questioning me.
"Isabelle." I say. Saying the first name that comes to mind.
"Well, at least you're home safely." He sighs. "You had me worried."
I give him a warm smile to lighten up the mood. I couldn't hate my brother for caring.
Reece gives me a smile in return. "Oh and Hunters taking you to school this morning."
My eyes widen, what!
"You're kidding?" I say, obviously Hunter didn't mention last nights unanticipated witness to Reece.
"No." Reece adds shaking his head. "My cars full."
I carefully put on my pair of black converse sneakers without causing too much pain to my swollen ankle. I have a tension headache due to my use of alcohol which doesn't help the fact that I have to see Hunter this early.
I grab my bag and walk outside when I hear his car pull up. I'm glad these high tops give me some support with my ankle because it's still a struggle to walk. I sit inside his car and slam the door shut. It's so quiet and awkward I want to say something but I decide against it.
"Good morning." He tells me.
"Is it?" I say, unfazed.
"Romee I'm sorry I just... we haven't been the happiest couple." He admits, as if it's not obvious.
"That doesn't mean you go and cheat. What you didn't have the balls to break up with me?" I snap.
"No... I want you... and I still do."
"So you just mistook me for that blonde last night?" I furrow my eyebrows together.
"Reece will literally kill me if he knew about this." He explains worry flashing in his eyes. "I love you."
I stay silent, I hate when he looks at me like that, with those big puppy dog eyes.
"I... I love you too." I respond.
A grin spreads across his face until it slowly begins to fade. "Last night when you left, did you go and get even?"
"Of course not!" I say out loud. "I would never do something like that."
Hunter nods his head in understanding.
"Okay, do you want to skip first period?"
