Flynn's POV
My mind couldn't stray away from our kiss. I tried to ignore it as I sped my way through the streets of Romee's neighborhood. Why was I so hung up on this girl? I've only known her for a week? And why does it feel like I've known her my whole life?
To clear my head I turn on the radio. A random song starts to play from my phone and through the speakers. This distracts me, but only for a moment.
When I reach my house I pull into the driveway and hit park. I already know what's waiting for me inside. More questions without answers.
I walk down the gravel path that leads to my front door and head inside. The first thing I see is Zander in the living room watching cartoons. I was annoyed because I've told the guys repeatedly about letting Zander watch cartoons before he finished his homework.
"Homework first." I order, turning off the television.
"No!" Zander cries.
"Now." I repeat.
He pouts but decides not to argue with me any further. I could hear the guys in the kitchen. When I come around I see them standing around a frozen pizza. Trying to figure out how to make it.
"Flynn! How do we start the oven?" Ricky asks.
"Can't we just order pizza?" Collin chimes in.
"Seriously?" I huff.
Still very much annoyed I push past them to turn the oven on. The helpless duo practically cheers as the oven starts to heat itself. They found joy in the littlest things.
"Did you and Romee grab something to eat?"
Ricky laughs and slaps Collins arm. Trying to get some kind of reaction out of me.
"I think they were too busy eating each other."
"I'm out of here." I reply.
"Flynn." I hear Zane call my name from the other room.
Before I make my way out of the kitchen I flip them off. That's just how we showed our love and appreciation.
"Yeah?" I said.
"Come on."
I follow Zane outside, getting struck by the cold brisk air. I shove my hands into my pockets as I join Zane on the bench in our pouch. I watch him light a cigarette. The smell of tobacco fills the air and travels into my lungs. I hated the smell, it gave me a headache.
"You can have any girl you want Flynn yet you choose to go after the only one you can't have."
I shake my head.
"Zane I don't need your lecture."
"Then answer this...what is it? Why her? Is it because of what happened?"
He concentrates on me. Looking very eager to hear my answer.
"I don't know." I sigh and this frustrates him.
