Memories have the ability to haunt us forever.

They're stowed away as a reminder of our past.

Memories hold a great deal of power as they are the reason for so many of our problems.

I remember very vividly, the moment we got the news of my parents passing. I was hanging out at the mall as one does with Kendal and Sienna. My phone had gone off numerous times in one sitting. I didn't think to answer the unknown caller. When Reece called everything from that day on changed completely.

Looking back on it now I can feel the pain I endured that very same day. I was full of fear, thinking l might lose Reece too.

"I'm sorry." I apologize.

Flynn sighs, showing his exhaustion.

"Don't be sorry, I overreacted, you were safe with Collin."

"No I think you're right I don't belong here."

I move my hands to my sides. I look at the ground. Wondering where I belong. Not with my brother or Flynn. I don't fit in anywhere. What's wrong with me?

In the distance the sound of a cars exhaust catches our attention. I turn my head out of curiosity. I count six headlights coming straight towards us.

"Who is that?"

"Your brother."

"Go inside."

I do as I'm told. The moment I step inside the house the three cars pull up so I peek my head through the curtains. I hear the music stop. Everything has gone silent.

"Fucking party crashers." Colby growls.

Everyone, including Ricky and Collin walk out to the lawn where Flynn is standing. Taking his aid in this showdown.

"Where is she?"

I recognize my brothers voice.

"You gotta be more specific." Flynn scoffs.

"Romee, I know she's here."

"Maybe she doesn't want to see you."

"It doesn't matter what she wants I'm her guardian and whatever I say goes."

I flinch at his words. I don't want to go back. As if I was nothing but a piece of property to him.

"Bring her outside." Reece demands. Suddenly two of his friends come inside the house. While Colby shouts profanity's at them. They spot me in the corner and drag me back outside.

"Assholes! What the hell Reece." I say.

The two men have a strong grip on me. Giving me no strength to fight them off. I recognize them from school but I can't figure out their names.

"You thought you could sneak away again didn't you?"

Reece doesn't sound like himself. This version was dark and brutal. It made me cower in fear.
