Jonah: In the cold light of day we're a flame in the wind not the fire that we've begun

Lately, you were noticing a bunch of changes in your relationship with Jonah. You had stopped spending time together and were clearly not paying as much attention to each other as you used to. You were being distant and he was too. The spark you had had was fading and fast. Of course it crushed the both of you because you really did love each other, but maybe it was more of a friendly love. Both of you could tell that the feelings you once had for each other weren't there anymore and if they were, it wasn't as powerful as before.

Zach: Cause with the all that has happened, I think we both know the way that the story ends

Both of you knew that it wasn't going to last much longer. Zach could feel it. You could feel it. With all of the fights you had been having lately and the distance between the two of you, you knew it wasn't going to last much longer. So, you and Zach had a mutual break up. It was painful but no tears were involved. Zach just thought it would be better to do it now than to wait any longer. Especially if the breakup was sprouted from a fight where tears would most likely get into it. You still loved each other, even after you broke up, you just couldn't deal with it then. Maybe one day, when things were easier, you could find your way back to each other, but for the time being, you couldn't do it.

Corbyn: Then only for a minute, I want to change my mind cause this just don't feel right to me. I want to raise your spirits I want to see you smile but know that means I'll have to leave

Corbyn wasn't an idiot. He could tell that you seemed sadder when you were around him. He could tell that you weren't as happy with him as you had been. Things had changed for you or something because you were different. You would distance yourself from Corbyn, reply to his text with short answers, respond half-heartedly when he would say "I love you" etc. This hurt Corbyn in so many ways, but since he loved you, all he wanted was for you to be happier. So, he decided that the only way to make you be "happier" was to leave. Break things off with you. There wasn't anything else he could think of. That is just what he did. After you had come back from work and decided to "crash early", he packed as much as he could and took an Uber to Daniel's apartment, where Daniel was going to let him stay until he found a more permanent place. Of course you were hurt that he left because you really were happy with him, but after a while, you allowed yourself to move on and so did he.

Jack: When the evening falls and I'm left there with my thoughts and the image of you being with someone else, well, that's eating me up inside

You and Jack had broken up 2 months ago. You missed him like hell and so did he, but neither of you knew that the other was in the same boat. He figured you were moving on just fine and you assumed the same of him. He would try to find someone else, but no one was you. The worst part was that, since he thought you had moved on, instead of calling you and soothing both of your fears, he would just sit in the dark in his room missing you. He would think of you two together and then the vision of him would morph into someone else and he could just imagine how you were probably dong the same things with someone else that you used to do with him. It made him want to puke. Just the thought of you with anyone besides him was eating him up inside. Of course, you would never think of being with anyone but him. But he didn't know that.

Daniel: Now if we jump together at least we can swim far away from the wreck we made

The distance between you and your boyfriend, Daniel, was palpable. Everyone could see the gaping holes in your relationship. There was an absurd amount of fighting and it was always over the most ridiculous things. But, neither of you wanted to break up. You loved each other too much to just throw 3 good years away. So, Daniel decided to take you to Paris. One of the most romantic cities in the world might be able to fix everything. You didn't like to think of it as running away. It was merely trying to save something you had both worked so hard for. You put devices away and spent time together, doing cute couple-y things, in a desperate attempt to fix everything. The time together did exactly what you wanted it to and you felt a lot better with Daniel. Problem was, you couldn't run to Paris every time things went sour between the two of you.
