Josh's POV
CRUSH
*edited*

I made a face as we approached Callum's house.

I shook my head, "I still can't believe we walked in on that." I say, thinking back to the... scene we saw.

Even Callum looked grossed out by it. "I didn't even know your sister had a boyfriend." He says, shivering at the memory.

I copy his action, feeling myself shiver also. "Me neither."

"So." He says stopping me, "My dads home, and he's probably going to be his usual fucktard of himself, if you want me to kill him, just say so." Callum says.

"16 years, Callum." I say rolling my eyes, "I'm pretty sure I know how your dad is."

"Just let me know if you want me to throw a knife at him. I'll do it for you."

I smiled, "It'll be fine."

Oh I was so wrong.

"The fuck Amy?" Callum's dad yells as we walked in. "Fucking soup? I hate soup and you fucking know it!"

I watched as Callum stared conflicted at his parents who bickered back and forward.

"I'm home." Callum yelled, in hopes of cutting them off.

It didn't, it just made his dad more angry.

"Shut the hell up, you fucking cunt!"

Callum rolled his eyes, clenching his jaw. "right..." he said quietly before motioning for me to follow him as we stalked through the house and to the backyard.

At least his backyard was nice, we used to spend multiple nights out here as kids, just watching the stars and pointing out random shapes we could see.

"Well, now you can see why I have a lovely relationship with my dad." Callum says, in hopes of breaking the tension. "I think he's gotten worst since the last time you've been over."

I shrug, "I have no idea what you're talking about, couldn't you hear the angel in there singing?" I ask sarcastically. Earning a laugh from Callum.

"More like satan himself when he was sent to hell." He says shaking his head.

Callum and I flop down on a - longer than normal - lawn chair. While it was big enough for two people, it was also small, so Callum's leg pressed firmly against mine as we sat down.

"Do you remember when I used to eat grass?" Callum asks randomly, his gaze meeting mine.

I laugh, "Yeah, what about it?" I ask.

"With the whole cow fiasco, maybe that was why." He says, "My dad is actually a cow and I'm part cow and that's why I thought grass tasted so good." He says, rubbing his chin.

I shake my head, "You're not part cow." I say, "You're part moron." I say, smiling at him and patting his thigh in a friendly way.

He smiles at me nodding his head, "Yeah, that makes even more sense." He says, he pats my hand the same way I pat his, except this time he didn't move his back to how own thigh, letting his head fall back as he looked up at the sky.
