Josh's POV
Chapter Forty: A day full of fun

"If you keep playing like that Callum you're gonna loose." Sylvia teased, placing down the reverse uno card.

Callum places down another reverse card, "Eat shit." He said and Sylvia snickered as she placed another reverse.

My mom and I just kinda sat there, watching as Callum pulled out another reverse card.

"So how has your day been?" I asked and my mom laughed.

"Great. It's been great. What did you and Callum do in town yesterday?" She asked and I shrugged.

"Nothing we turned around when it started raining." Yeah, yesterday after our heartfelt conversation it started to rain and pour, which is ridiculous since it's July.

Sylvia groaned, "I ran out of reverses." She said and Callum grinned in pride as Sylvia places down an ordinary four.

My mom slapped down a plus four and I playfully pushed her shoulder, "What happen to our peaceful bonding discussion you jerk." I said, drawing four cards from the deck as she changed the color to blue.

Callum places down a Blue plus two and Sylvia glared. "I'll fuck you up Callum."

"Language." My mom chided.

Callum's lips pulled into a smirk. "Give it your best shot."

"So how long have they been playing?" My dad whispered as now they were playing card games, Callum winning over and over again  and Sylvia absolutely refusing to believe that she'd lost.

I shrugged, "Bout an hour or two."

My dads jaw slacked and he glanced at my mom who shrugged.

"Ha!" I heard Sylvia exclaim, "I won. God Callum you're so bad at this game, step the fuck up to my level."

Callum rolled his eyes, "I've won the past six rounds."

I laughed and Sylvia shrugged, "Whatever. I still one."

My dad coughed to catch our attention and we all turned our heads, "Now that you're done being 12 year old..." he held up his keys and jingled them, then pointed at Sylvia, "Sylvia you've got a doctors appointment."

Sylvia groaned and my mom walked over and patted her on the back, "Come on, I know it sucks but we've got to be sure."

"I already told you, I'm not pregnant."

Oh yeah, did I skip that? My bad.

Basically, uh, recently Sylvia has started to feel sick in the mornings, and she can't handle being around my mom when she's wearing her strong scented perfume, plus, (quoted from my father) she's either pregnant or fat.

Of course if she was pregnant it wouldn't be a shock who the dad would be, obviously her friend— uh boyfriend? That one guy that she's seeing often.

And Of course Sylvia is an adult, so she's not in trouble or anything, my parents are just being parents.

"We will be right back boys." My mom said, shrugging on her jacket. "Don't have a flour fight please." She said and I recalled when Callum and I were making a cake and got baking things all over the house.
