Josh's POV
Chapter Twenty-Three: Mistakes
*edited*

"I swear to god Callum if you touch me I will-" my sentence was cut off as Callum grabbed my legs and jerked me into the freaking icy water.

I came up, gasping for air. "S-so cold."

Callum chuckled in the water and I scrambled to get out, only to be stopped by Callum constantly grabbing the back of my swim trunks and pulling me back in.

"Just wait, you'll warm up." He said, wading in the water. He held onto my shoulders and I violently wiggled until he let me go.

I scrambled out, "Hell no Callum!" I exclaimed, sprinting into the house with my family laughing behind me.

Unlike me they could actually resist Callum and refused to go into the icy water.

Callum pulled himself out of the water and wrapped a towel around him.

"S'mores?" My mom smiled, holding up some marshmallows, chocolate and gram crackers.

My teeth were chattering, "as long as we have a fire I'm good. Hell, I'm so cold you can make me into the fire."

Callum cackled and started towards the bathroom to change back into his clothes.

Upon him exiting I was back in my usual clothes and huddled in front of the fire, freezing.

Callum sat next to me, looking at me with water droplets on his eyelashes and his hair (which was really long) falling around his face.

It made me kinda sad. He was really pretty, Ill admit I get jealous of Callum sometimes. But then I remember that he's always been my friend no matter what I look like and try to push it away.

The words slipped from my mouth faster than I could stop them. "You look pretty." I sounded stupid, like I was a third grader.

Callum grinned, a fond look in his eyes that I admired so much more than I ever thought I would. "You look like a wet dog." He said teasingly and then he looked away, "But a pretty wet dog."

"Here you go Callum." My mom said with a smile, handing Callum a s'more.

"Don't eat too much now. We still have Cake, dinner and presents." My dad chimed in and I watched as Callum's eyes sparkled.

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Callum, Happy birthday to you!"

"And many more-" Sylvia chirped glancing at me.

"On channel four-"

"Who lost his shoe-"

"On channel two."

"And I'd not know the rest." She sang in the same tone as the rest of the song.

I've always forgot the lyrics to the last part it's doesn't need to make sense as long as it rhymes.

Callum hesitated, making a wish before he blew out his cake (which wasn't the prettiest but we didn't have much time... But at least we tried.)
