"Hey Jane, we'll be back soon okay?" Ethan asked, as the five teenagers walked downstairs and into the kitchen where Jane sat, eating a bowl of cereal.

She just rolled her eyes, taking another bite.

"I mean, if we don't get sucked dry," Benny said.

"Benny!" Juniper scolded quietly, as Jane looked up at the teens in slight fear.

"What?!" She asked, dropping her spoon into her bowl.

"Nothing!" Sarah quickly said. "Benny's just hoping he doesn't cry during the movie because he's a wuss."

"And he wants to impress Juniper." Aspen added, earning a blush from both Benny and Juniper.

"Okayyyyy, see ya grandma!" Benny quickly said, wanting nothing more than to get out of the house and away from the embarrassment.

"Wait, I have something for you guys." Benny's grandmother insisted, coming into view.

"No, grandma. I've already ate, uh, I don't think Junie needs any food either, uh, and I don't think we need any- decorative knives?" Benny's eyes widened as he named off the things on his fingers, but stopped once he saw his grandma bringing out something he least expected.

"If you're going to be battling the bloodsuckers you're going to need these." She said, handing them to Ethan and Aspen.

"Spend almost a century in this town, and you happen to pick up a few things." Benny's grandma shrugged, before turning and picking up what looked like a book. "And this, I bookmarked a few spells but be careful, they don't always do what you want them to when you haven't practiced."

"Are you a witch?" Jane asked, a smile growing on her face.

"Oh no, goodness no!" Benny's grandma turned to Jane. "I'm an Earth Priestess, they're very different and much more fun." She moved her hand around above Jane's drawing, making it do some sort of dance. "Sorry Juniper."

"Sorry for what?" Juniper asked, furrowing her eyebrows. She glanced over at Benny, who stopped flipping through the spell book and gave a look just the same as hers.

"Whoa, grandma." Benny commented.

"Benny's... Grandma... Rocks!" Jane said happily, jumping in her seat.

"Anyways, back to what we were talking about." His grandma turned back to the teens. "I didn't want to tell you before you were ready. I thought it might freak you out. There's a reason you're drawn to the unexplained. You have the markings of a first rank spell-master. And Ethan here- he's a seer!" She motioned to Benny then Ethan, before turning to Juniper. "And you, you haven't had any symptoms yet?"

Juniper shook her head. "Am I supposed to?"

His grandma just pursed her lips, before turning to Ethan. "A seer is his path."
