Chapter 2

Emma parks her car in front of Zelena's Boutique, she grabs her clipboard and looks over the work order. She has to fix one of the sinks at the hair washing station, the lock on the back door and put together a new supply shelf. She gets out of the car and gets her tool belt to put on. She grabs her toolbox and goes into the salon. "Hi. I'm looking for Zelena".  A tall redhead, who was styling a woman's black and white hair says in a British accent says. "Yup that's me blondie. You need a haircut?"  Emma smiles. "Thanks. Maybe next time. Marco couldn't make it so he sent me. I hope that's ok?"   "As long as you can do the job it's fine with me. You know what needs to be done?"  Emma looks at the clipboard. "Sink, back door and put together a shelf?"  "Yup. The sinks are over there". She points at the other side of the room, Emma nods and gets right to work. While she's removing the drain of the sink she can hear Zelena and her customer chatting. Mostly about boring stuff like curtains and new bed sheets. When they were finished the woman said thank you and left. A few minutes later Emma suddenly hears the door open and swing shut and the heavy click of heals on the floor. "Good afternoon dear sister. Why such a long face?"  As soon as the woman begins to speak Emma freezes. She knows that voice. That has to be the woman from the diner. "Oh Z today has been such a horrible day starting first thing this morning. I had to sit through the longest meeting ever and then, when that was done I went over to Granny's to finally have something to eat and some asshole next to me bumps my arm sending hot coffee all down the front of me".   "Oh gosh Regina, did you get burnt?"  "Luckily no. And the jerk didn't want to apologize. He just laughed at me".  "Well I hope you kicked him in the nuts". "I didn't have a chance. This hot blonde sitting next to me came to my rescue, she told him to apologize and he laughed again so she punched him right in the face, knocking him and his idiot friend to the floor".  "Get out. Your making this up".  "I am not Zelena. It happened right at the counter of Granny's. Then she picks they guy up and made him apologize to me, which he did. Then she told him and his friend to get out and never come back. They both ran out like their pants were on fire". She laughs saying the last part and Emma smiles. "So did you get her number?"   "No". She says quietly. "Oh. Come on Regina. Why not?"  "Because Z, you know I'm not good at that stuff".  "You don't have to be good you just have to try. You've been single way to long now". Emma starting to feel bad that she's been listening in on their conversation and now that the sink is fixed she's going to have to stand up and make herself known. So she stands up but doesn't look in the direction of the two women. She starts to put the tools away and she can hear whispers but can't make out the words. "Damn it Zelena why didn't you tell me someone was here?"  "What's the big deal. She's here to fix a few things".  "The big deal is that's the blonde from Granny's".  "You mean the hot blonde?"  She teases. Emma walks over and only looks at Zelena. "Excuse me. Where is the back door so I can fix the lock?"  "Oh. You've been so quiet I forgot you were here. Would you like anything to drink ahh. I'm sorry I don't know your name". "It's Emma. Emma Swan".  "It's lovely to meet you. Let me introduce you to my dear sister Regina. Regina this is Emma". They look at each other and smile. "It's nice to see you again". Emma says. "It's nice to see you as well. Thank you again for helping me earlier".  "It was no problem. They were jerks. I hope you are ok". Emma motions to Reginas chest area. "Yes I'm fine thank you. No permanent damage done". They both smile. "Let me show you the back door emma". Zelena says as she starts walking away. Emma grabs her tool box and walks after her. When Zelena walks back to the chairs she can't help but laugh at her sister.  "Stop laughing Zelena this isn't funny. She heard our entire conversation".  "So what? She heard you say you think she's hot".  "Oh god. I'm so embarrassed. I need to leave".  "Oh no you don't. Sit right there. I'm going to get you to go out with this girl if it kills me".  "Zelena please stop. I'll date when I'm ready".  "Regina you are ready. Please just give this a chance".  "She probably doesn't even want to go out with me".   "Stop. She totally wants you". While Emma is fixing the door she can hear the whole conversation and she's smiling. When she was done with the door, she walks into the main area. She makes sure to clear her throat before she walks in just so they know she coming back. "Ok the lock is all set. It was just a loose spring. So where is that shelf that you need put up?"   "It's right there against the wall. You can set it up in here if you'd like. I have no more customers for today". "Ok thank you. I'm just going to go out to my car and get a bottle of water. I'll be right back". "No need to go outside dear. There are ice cold waters in that fridge next to the box. Help yourself".  "Ok thank you".  Emma gets the water and drinks most of it down and Regina watches her the whole time. Emma, then gets right to work. "So Emma. My sister Regina and I were just talking. We got tickets to the movies tonight, but unfortunately I can't make it. I forgot I had a previous engagement that I can't change. Would you care you join my sister as a thank you for saving her from those assholes?"   "Ah. Sure. I wouldn't mind, if it's ok with her".  "Yes it's definitely ok with her. It was her idea". Emma smiles. "Sure. Then I'd love too. Thanks".  "Excellent".  Emma continues on with her work and it only takes about 10 minutes to put the shelf together.  "Ok so where would you like this to go?"  "Right against the wall that the box was on please". It's not to heavy so Emma moves it herself and Regina watches closely as Zelena gives her sister a thumbs up. Regina just shakes her head.  "Ok I think that was everything on the list. Is there anything else that you need before I go?"   "Nope. I think that was all". Emma nods and hands her the clipboard to sign off on the job. "Thank you so much Emma and here is my sisters address and phone number".  "Ok thanks". She looks at Regina. "What time would you like me to pick you up, or did you want to meet there?"  "You can pick me up at 7 if that's ok?"  "Yes. 7 is great. I'll see you then". They both smile at each other and Emma picks up her toolbox and leave. When she gets in her car she can't believe she has a date with that gorgeous brunette she helped at the diner. She really can't wait for tonight.
