Chapter 19

Hours later Regina wakes up in Emma's arms. She places a gentle kiss to Emma's chest and lays her head back down. A few minutes later Emma wakes and kisses Regina's head. "I love you so much baby".  "I love you too sweetheart". Emma jumps a bit. "I'm sorry my love, I didn't mean to scare you". "It's ok. It just didn't know you were awake yet".  "I only just woke up and I'm very hungry, famished actually. It must be your baby. I want a little bit of everything. It's crazy. I want a salad, I want sweet potato fries, I want a big juicy burger, and I totally want I big piece of apple pie with ice cream. Chocolate, no maybe strawberry. Oh what the hell both".   Regina and Emma both laugh. "Then babe, you and our baby shall have it". Regina gives Emma a big kiss. "Thank you sweetheart. Let's get up and go to Granny's". Emma doesn't like that idea. "How about we get something delivered instead?  I don't wanna get dressed".  "You don't want to see Ruby do you?"  "No I don't. Regina please, I don't want to go. I will take you if you want and I will wait till you eat, but right now I'm not ready to see or talk to Ruby. I thought she was my best friend for so long. She listened to me talk last night, she said she wanted to help me, but when it came right down to it she looked at me like she didn't know me, and I guess she never really did. How could she ask me if I would hit you?  It makes me sick to even think of it. A so called best friend would have known better. Ok. Whatever. I'm done talking about it. Do you want me to take you there or not?"  Emma gets out of bed and starts getting dressed. "I'm sorry Emma. I didn't mean to upset you". "It's ok babe. So what do you want for dinner?"  "Can I order from Granny's and I'll go pick it up?"  Emma gives her a kiss. "Baby you can do as you please". Regina smiles brightly. "Thank you my love. I'll go call. What do you want. I'll get my usual burger and fries please".  "Ok sweetheart. I'll go call now". Regina calls to make the order, then she gets dressed. She gives Emma a kiss.  "I'll be right back my love". Regina leaves the bedroom and soon Emma hears the door close. Emma makes her way downstairs. She sits in the living room. This thing with Ruby really bothers her. She and Ruby were always so close, but for her to think that she could ever hurt Regina or any woman really pisses her off, but she's not gonna dwell on that. She still has Regina and their unborn baby, so everything is alright. She waits for Regina to come back, because right now she really wants some greasy food. About 20 minutes later, Regina comes back with 3 bags of food. They meet in the kitchen and take everything out of the bags. They both dig into their greasy food. When Regina finishes her food she goes straight for the piece of apple pie. She puts it in the microwave and gets the ice cream out of the freezer. "Oh, Before I forget. Ruby sent this for you. Black Forest cake. She said Granny made it today. Do you want it now my love?"   "No thanks babe, I don't want it at all".  "Ok sweetheart. I'll put it in the refrigerator for later".  "No. Regina. I don't want it. Put it in the refrigerator if you want it later, but I don't want it". "Why not? You love Black Forest Cake".  "Regina. Look. I'm not ready yet, and I don't want anything from Ruby. Please don't push this. We just fixed our own shit, I don't want to ruin that because of Ruby. Please baby. Just let us have this time. Just you and me. Right now I want to concentrate on you and our baby. Everything else can come later".  "Ok Emma. I will do as you ask. I'm keeping the cake though. It looks to good to throw away". They both laugh a little and hold each other. Emma takes Regina in her arms and gives her a kiss. "Babe, I really do love you so much. I hate when we argue".  "So do I my love".  They kiss again. "Hey babe. Do you think we can get away from here for a few days. I know this cute little town in Vermont. It has some nice B&B's, and a more extravagant hotel called The Equinox. I've actually always wanted to stay there. You'd love it. They have valets right out front wearing matching tuxedo uniforms. The town has all these outlets there now, including a huge baby store, and this wicked cool restaurant that's like over 200 years old, and everything inside it looks old fashioned".  "Wow Emma. It's sounds like you really love this place. How do you know so much about it?"  "When I was almost 13, before I was adopted by the Nolan's I ran away and lived there for a few months". Regina laughs. "Oh Emma, you lived quite a life at such a young age, and yes that does sound wonderful. Let's get the laptop out and start googling".  "Really. Awesome. Thanks babe".  Regina made reservations at The Equinox. Emma was right in the way she described the town. Regina really couldn't wait to see it. She called Kathryn and told her she was going out of town for a few days and she would be taking her laptop if she needed anything. Regina and Emma packed and left the next morning.
