I rubbed my eyes slowly and walked into the kitchen. The cold floor felt good on my feet, especially since it wanted too be blazing hot outside. The talk with my father two days ago at the club house ran through my mind all night.

"Good morning!" My mother chirped happily while I made my way to the coffee pot.

I groaned groggily. "You're too chipper. Coffee first, then we can have a talk." I brought the yummy liquid up too my lips and drank the liquidly hug. I moaned as the warmth fell down my throat. "Mommy likey."

"You know if you keep drinking that stuff you'll just become a coffee bean." My father smirked as he entered the kitchen from the garage. He took a drag from his cigarette that hung from his lips. He winked at me, took the cancer stick out of his mouth, and placed a kissed on my mothers forehead.

"And you do know, you keep smoking those your lungs will eventually collapse and turn into dust?"

He whistled while my mom chuckled . "Wow. Remind me not too wake you up in the morning. God forbid we ever keep you up at night."

I placed my mug on the counter and faked a laugh. "Yeah, you and mom actually did keep me up last night. It probably has something to do with the headboard banging against the wall for, oh, I don't know, almost two hours. Ever heard of putting a pillow behind the headboard?"

He smirked. "Well it would've been quick but your mother -"

I shook my head and quickly placed my hand over my ears. "Ew, ew! Never mind!" I gagged. My father laughed as he walked back into the garage. "Do you two ever quit?"

My mother shook her head as she placed a small thing of food in front of Abel. She sat down and dipped the small plastic spoon in the sauce that was supposedly food. "Well, duh. We have too eat sometimes."

I propped myself up against the counter as Abel tried his best to fend off the spoon with the green goop. I didn't blame the kid, it looked absolutely disgusting. No wonder why his poop was everywhere sometimes. "He's gonna grow up hating anything green that lands on his plate if you keep feeding him that shit."

"Language." My mother scolded as she finally was able too get a spoonful of the goop into my brothers mouth.

I shuddered as he all bit spit it back out. "Yeah, okay Captain America."

She looked at me perplexed. "Who?"

Of course my mother would not know who he is. "Never mind." My jokes were totally wasted on some people. I pushed myself onto the counter and took another sip of my coffee. "How're you and Dad?"

"Well lets see: we're almost living together as a family. Your Dad put my name on the house and we sleep in the same bed. I say we're doing pretty well." She said sarcastically as she cooed too Abel.

"Not what I meant." I knew all of this. I knew we were living underneath one roof now, well..sort of. I knew my mothers name went onto the bills, and from the nights I had to cover my ears - I knew they were in the same room together.

"I know what you meant. I decided too ignore it." She simply stated. Abel began too fuss more as she tried once again to shove the green goo into his mouth.

'Like how you ignore everything else.' I thought too myself. "Mom, I don't think Abel likes spinach and lettuce." I reached behind me and grabbed the small jar of bananas and strawberries and tossed it too her. Thankfully my mother had reflexes of a cat and caught the object. "Try that." She studied the jar before shoving away the old one.

While cleaning off the spoon with a towel she placed on the table, she dipped into the bananas and strawberries and made an airplane motion in the air before popping the new flavor into his mouth. Abel looked like he pondered on the new flavor before he looked at our mother.
