Chapter 9: Facing your fears.

Mikoto's POV:

    I turned on my heel and walked out of the bar without saying a word. I headed across the street. I saw a park and decided to stop there and smoke, as I sat down on one the benches I felt someone watching me. "I know your there, Y/n, come out." I told her in my usual bored voice. She stepped out from her hiding place and she sat down next me.

    "What are you doing here?" I asked her. "I got worried, Mikoto, the clan they love-" "No they fear me. They are afraid of me." I cut her off. "I'm not afraid of you. I never have been and I never will be." She said to me. I looked at her my anger started to boil. "...You lie." I replied softly to her. She instantly raised her hand and slapped me across my cheeck. I just stared at her dumb struck. "I will not have you disrespect me. God damn it Mikoto, I love you! I don't want you to die. Your sword is at its limit and you know it! The clan is worried about you! We love you!" She shouted at me.

    I stared at her in surprise. ".." I didn't say a word. "Damn it Mikoto, say something!" "...." I suddenly wrapped my arms around her and kissed her, thinking that, that was enough for her to piece together a answer. She pulled back. She rested her head against my chest as she started to sob softly as I rubbed her back trying to comfort her. "Y/n, I promise, I'm not planning on dying anytime soon." I spoke softly.
"You better not!" She said to me. Suddenly Yata came running up to us. "Yata? What is it?" She asked him. "We found him. The killer. We found him." He said to us weakly.

    Y/n looked at me. "Where?" I asked him. "The high school." Yata replied weakly as he panted trying to catch his breath. "Come lets go." I said. He started to walk to the high school. Y/n looked back at Yata. "Tell the rest of the clan to head over to the high school." She ordered him. He nodded and bolted off, she turned back around and followed me.
