Underneath it all-
All the words, the fighting.
We're all just human.
We have skin, and a heart.
And both things are broken so quickly and so painfully that,
Sometimes we forget what it's like to love. But words are our outlet-
Or mine, at least.
They're my one way to be heard-
To make people feel what I feel,
To understand the pain of breathing every day.Because some days-
It's so difficult to breathe that I sometimes forget how.
On others, I'll hold my breath until I can't anymore,
Just for that adrenaline rush. And sometimes,
I'll just breathe,
Like a normal girl. And on those days-
On those days I feel the least like me.
I'd prefer to be scarred and upset,
And willing to die,
To being a perfect little shell.
I don't want to be soulless,
And so I'll hold my breath.
And keep holding it.Everyone is allowed to be different-
It's not a taboo thing.
And for all those people that hold their breath,
I raise you a question.
What does it matter that you're different? We're all just human.
We have skin, and a heart.
And both things are broken so quickly and so painfully that,
Sometimes we forget what it's like to love.~•~•~

Shades of the heart
PoetryThis is my second poem book. The first one started off with really bad poems but got gradually better, but by then people hated my poems and deleted the book from their library, lol. The first book is called shades of the mind.
