We approach the Joseph's car and Tyler was being awkward and a little edgy. We both sit in the car without anyone saying a word.
'You okay?' I mouth to him as we drive off. Tyler glances at me and darts his eyes at his mom, he must be terrified on what she going to say to him. He starts twiddling his thumbs keeping his head well down so his mom can't see the broken apart expression on his face.
I break the silence with a,
"How are you Mr and Mrs Joseph?"
I regret saying it after I catch Mrs Joseph narrowing her eyes at me through the mirror.
"Fine, thank you Josh," Tyler's dad replies taking a right turn into their neighbourhood.
I hear Tyler gulp as we see mine and his family, including Debby and Jenna waiting in the front porch.
"Oh no" Tyler whispers to himself.
