*wasn't going to update today but here's a long chapter :)*
Jaliyah crept through the halls as she had ignored and dodged Jeongguk for the fourth time today. She felt bad but she just couldn't face him, at least not today. He had been texting her non-stop and she ignored every single one of them. Jaliyah didn't have the heart to speak to him. If they saw each other in the hall she would turn the other way. If she was in class with him, he'd be ignored the entire time as if he wasn't there. All she ever did was tell him that they wouldn't be together and that was what she truly believed. His reputation was crazy and if he ever fell in love with a girl, I love you would sound like fiction. His words weren't based on the truth anymore but girls didn't care sometimes. As long as they got to say they had sex with Jeon Jeongguk or they kissed Jeon Jeongguk, it didn't matter.
"Jaliyah you can't ignore him forever, and I hate seeing you like this. Stop ignoring him in class. You need to speak to him." Junie sighed as he watched her look around cautiously in the hall, going to lunch before going to her gym class for basketball practice. He assumes she had been ignoring him since he kissed her because that day he had been spamming her and it wouldn't stop. If she wasn't going to be with him, the least she could do was talk to him.
"I'll talk to him later."
"Does later mean right now?"
"Why?"
"Because he's coming over here."
Jaliyah groaned as she heard the sickening footsteps of the person she was dreading to see all day. She turned around to see Jeongguk staring at her with a large frown on his face. He looked kind of adorable but she wasn't going to admit that. The two continued to stare at each other forgetting that Junie was still standing in the same spot, feeling awkward but he wasn't going to leave. He wanted to be nosy.
"Why do you ignore me every time I try to talk to you? What did I do? Why did you ignore my calls and messages last night?" He asked frantically, the bell for lunch was close to ringing but he didn't care. He needed an explanation. The way she kissed him back he assumed she enjoyed it too but the way she was ignoring him was telling him differently.
He didn't get one ounce of sleep last night, fearing that she'd want nothing to do with him anymore. He had a long talk with his hyungs and they felt as if it would be best if he gave her time, but he didn't have time. He wanted to get closer to her but something was stopping her from doing so.
"I just- I just don't want to deal with your baggage. It's honestly too much. I don't want to cry every second of the day while you fuck some other female and have the time of your life. I've dealt with too much heartbreak in the past. I'm not dealing with that anymore, but the kiss was nice. I liked it." She admitted before turning around to go to lunch with Junie trailing behind her, giving Jeongguk a sympathetic face.
Jeongguk's frown only became deeper as he slowly followed also to the lunchroom, dreading that he had it the same time as her.
✨✨
"You can be a real bitch you know that?"
Jaliyah ignored Junie's words and munched more on her chicken salad.
"Don't be so hard on her! If she doesn't want to be with him then she doesn't have to." Celeste argued, earning a glare from Junie. For once, Jaliyah agreed with her on something.
"Who asked for your input centipede? Just continue being the fake ass bitch you've always been!" Junie retorted, slamming his hands on the table. Jaliyah was about to intervene but the one person she didn't want to see today came stomping over with an angry face.
"So you kissed him!?" Jieun asked, her little irrelevant minions standing behind her in the same position. From the other side of the cafeteria, other students including jeongguk and his hyungs were standing around trying to get a grasp on what was going on. He just prayed there wasn't a fight.
"Jieun get out of my face," Jaliyah said as calmly as she could. Junie looked at the situation intently, seeming something wasn't right so he looked at Celeste who was about to shit her pants.
"Who told you that?" He asked. If he was given the answer he had the question to all along then his accusations about Celeste would be right sadly.
Jieun smirked. "Why don't you ask the quiet mouse over here. Seeing as she's been telling me your every move and everything that involves my man."
Jaliyah and Junie looked at Celeste, who gave them sympathetic looks as she looked away.
"I fucking told you that two-timing bitch was plotting against you!" Junie exclaimed loudly, flailing his arms everywhere.
At that point, Jaliyah was over the entire situation. She felt as if getting to an altercation with non-factors wasn't necessary. What was the point of arguing when there was nothing coming out of it unless the issue was really fucked up. And to think, the girl that she used to tell everything to was telling the one person she didn't like, her business. She didn't know how to feel, it was a whole new level of hurt on her heart.
"I mean what did you expect? Your best friend betrayed you? Jeongguk's playing you and sadly your father and didn't even want to deal with you that's why he had to get cancer and die while your mother was still in America fucking random men for drug money. Seems like everything isn't all good for little miss basketball star. " Jieun said, smirking as she stated her last words as if she accomplished but little did she know she unleashed a different side of Jaliyah, a side that was kept at bay for far too long. There were gasps going throughout the lunch room. Jaliyah's gaze turned emotionless but she felt tears in her eyes, only she refused to let them fall.
Quickly, Jeongguk ran over again to stop Jaliyah. He had been watching the whole time and he knew the minute her hand clenched she was going to do something but he couldn't let that happen. She was just so strong, he only prayed that if she got away from him that she'd go easy on Jieun. From this point, he wasn't going to say anything.
"Oops. Did I hit a nerve?" Jieun giggled along with her friends but no one else in the lunchroom was laughing. It was too scary to laugh at.
As she continued to giggle and laugh Jaliyah hurriedly took off her jacket and roughly threw Jeongguk on the ground so he wouldn't stop her. Without thinking, she tackled Jieun on the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face, ignoring the pleas and cries for her to get up. While Jeongguk was trying to comprehend what was going on, Celeste had already run out and Junie was egging his best friend on as she assaulted the girl under her.
"Don't cry now bitch! You weren't crying when you were talking shit!" He laughed, people around had started to rush over to stop the fight but Jeongguk and his hyungs have already done it.
The seven boys tried to pull her off but she wasn't letting up and Jieun looked as if she was about to die. After a while, she gave up hitting back and just took the lethal like punches that were going her way.
"Jaliyah please!" Jeongguk yelled, finally succeeding as he pulled her off. She had endless tears streaming down her face as she finally stopped and stood up, grabbed her backpack and quickly put it on. She shrugged Jeongguk off of her and wiped her tears with her bloody hands, ignoring the pain in her knuckles.
"Fuck this shit! I'm done!" She yelled as she sped walked out of the lunchroom. Jieun was left on the ground, coughing and sobbing as she couldn't move nor feel her face. Jeongguk ignored her and tried to run after Jaliyah but Yoongi grabbed his shoulder and shook his head at the younger.
"You saw what just happen. Let her have time alone."
Jeongguk sighed but nodded. He felt as if it was all his fault and he possibly blew it with the girl he saw himself being with for good.
