{Lina}

THERE WAS MOVEMENT behind Lina. She was being shaken awake by Jason. Lina let out a soft groan as her eyes opened. "We're here," Jason told her when she looked at him.

Lina looked around and saw the building—no wait was it was a castle? Were they in the right place?

"Tell me we're in Quebec and not Santa's workshop," Leo said.

"Honestly I wouldn't mind going to Santa's workshop," Lina said still gazing at the castle.

"Yeah, Quebec City," Piper confirmed. "One of the oldest cities in North America. Founded around sixteen hundred or so?"

Leo raised an eyebrow. "Your dad do a movie about that too?"

Lina couldn't see Piper but she was sure she was making a face. "I read sometimes, okay? Just because Aphrodite claimed me, doesn't mean I have to be an airhead."

"Fiesty!" Leo said. "So you know so much, what's that castle?"

"A hotel, I think."

Leo laughed. "No way."

But as they got closer, Lina saw that Piper was right. The entrance was bustling with doormen, valets, and porters taking bags. Sleek black luxury cars idled in the drive. People in elegant suits and winter cloaks hurried to get out of the cold.

"The North Wind is staying in a hotel?" Leo said. "That can't be."

"You never know with gods," Lina reminded him.

"Heads up, guys," Jason interrupted. "We got company!"

Lina craned her neck and saw what Jason was talking about. Rising from the top of the tower were two winged figures—angry angels, with nasty looking swords.

Lina raised her eyebrow at the two and shuddered as they got closer. She guessed that Jason felt her shudder as he scooted closer to her. She looked down and saw that Jason's arms were still wrapped around her waist. She raised her head again and chose not to say anything, she liked his warmth.

The angels pulled up in front of Festus and hovered there, swords at the ready.

The bigger angel grunted. "No clearance."

"'Scuse me?" Leo said.

"You have no flight plan on file," explained the one that had an outfit that explained why disco was dead. "This is restricted airspace."

"Destroy them?" The ox showed off his gap-toothed grin.

Lina clutched her bow charm on her bracelet and glared at the two. Behind her, she felt Jason take out his golden sword.

"Hold on!" Leo cried out. "Let's have some manners here, boys. Can I at least find out who has the honor of destroying me?"

Lina snorted softly at his comment.

"I am Cal!" the ox grunted. Lina noticed he looked proud of himself and her heart softened a little.

"That's short for Calais," the disco fiasco said. "Sadly, my brother cannot say words with more than two syllables—"
