{Jason}

THEY SPIRALED THROUGH THE DARK in a free fall, still on the dragon's back, but Festus's hide was cold. His ruby eyes were dim.

"Not again," Leo yelled. "You can't fall again."

"If us falling to our deaths is gonna be a regular thing, I should probably buy a parachute." Lina screamed before letting out a string of colorful curses.

Jason was panicking, he didn't know what to do or how to help but if he didn't think of something soon all of them would become human pancakes wherever they landed. He could see flashes of the city below them as they plummeted in circles. They only had seconds before they crashed. He could feel Lina's arms tighten in a vice like grip around his waist.

"Jason!" Leo screamed. "Take Piper and Lina and fly out of here!"

"What?"

"We need to lighten the load! I might be able to reboot Festus but he's carrying too much weight!"

Jason felt the gears turning in his head. Before he could come to a conclusion he heard Lina's voice by his ear. "I'm okay just take Piper," She tried to convince him. "I'll be just fine."

Jason only turned and gave her an incredulous look. "Last time you said that, you ended up with a dislocated shoulder. Don't think I didn't notice."

He grabbed Lina and pulled her into his chest as he wrapped an arm around Piper's waist. The three unbuckled their harnesses and in a flash they were gone —shooting into the air.

It was a struggle for Jason to keep the three afloat. He could barely hold two people, three was just pushing it. It didn't help that Lina was complaining the whole way down.

"Grace, I told you I was going to be fine. So I might have slightly dislocated my shoulder last time no big deal," Lina was saying missing the look Jason was giving her. "But you don't have to push yourself, I mean look at you struggling to keep us from dying."

"Lina, do me a huge, huge favor," Jason said as Lina nodded. "Shut up, please."

That was the last time Lina spoke on their way down.

When they landed Jason put Piper down gently before releasing Lina. She took a few steps back a light pink on her cheeks as she realized how he was holding her. Jason smirked as he noticed it but chose not to say anything.

The followed Piper to where she had gone, hovering worriedly over Leo. They all peered anxiously at his face, praying he wasn't dead. Jason couldn't help but wince as he looked around them, seeing pieces of Leo's beloved dragon all around the four.

He frowned when he saw Leo coming to. He was happy that his friend was alive, but there was no easy way to put that his dragon had been obliterated.

"Where—" Leo asked confused

"Lie still." Piper had tears in her eyes. "You rolled pretty hard when—when Festus—"

"Where is he?" Leo sat up, disturbing Lina who's hands were glowing over his head as she hummed.

"Seriously, Leo," Jason winced as he spoke. "You could be hurt, Lina's checking you right now for injuries. You shouldn't—"
