Katie's POV:

Everyone was standing in front of the gates of the glade which separated us from the maze, and were waiting for Minho and Alby to arrive from their run trough the maze.

It only had been like 2 days since Ben attacked our greenie Thomas. For that Ben got banished into the maze where he had to stand up to himself all alone against all those Grievers.

I was standing beside Newt, my boyfriend by the way, and next to chuck in the front row so I could see what was happening and maybe Alarm the others when I would've seen Minho and Alby returning.

But nothing and it had been several hours already and the gates were almost closing. It couldn't be long anymore. I grabbed Newt's hand and gave him a worried glance.

He just squeezed my hand softly and gave me a reassuring look. He knew Minho was my best friend, but also his just like Alby was. And I knew Newt was bloody worried.

But as long as Alby was in the maze with Minho, Newt had to do Alby's stuff and watch over those shanks and i haven't seen all day until now. Being secondin command meant that he had to be strong on the outside.

I got pulled out of my thoughts as I heard the maze gates close. The screeching alarmed everyone and all their gazes were back at the maze where the door were already halfway closed as chuck spotted Minho and Alby.

And all of the gladers started cheering for the boys, screaming for Minho to leave Alby there and help himself. But he didn't. He kept trying to get Ably and himself back to safety.

The gates were more and more closing and it looked like Minho wouldn't make it in time. I could feel my heart beat bang inside my chest and my hands getting even more sweaty then they already were.

It seemed like the time stopped passing and at the same time Thomas and I made for a run and went into the maze. Newt tried to grab my hand in time but I was already too far away.

I was stuck between the closing gates but made out before it could crush me and fell to the ground just like Thomas did. Now I was in the maze and were facing the closed gates. The last thing I saw was the pure shock on Newt's face and I promised to myself that I would definitely come back to him.

He wouldn't lose me and I wouldn't lose him. Out of nowhere there was a hand inside my view and I grabbed it, letting me pull up by Minho. He gave me a bitte look and said to Thomas and I " you just got yourself killed shanks".

" what exactly is this?" Thomas asked turning around himself and looking around. I turned to him and said sharply " this is the maze and now come on, we don't have all day, we must find somewhere to hide before the grievers come".

And so we did. We made our way through the maze with Minho and Thomas carrying the poor Alby and looking for a place to hide.

The sun already began to set down and the sky got from minute to minute darker. Out of nowhere I could hear a screeching and metallic sound. Now we were running even faster.

Minho Thomas and I reached a wall which was full of ivy and Thomas Minho and I bound Alby to those ivy wall and tried to pull him up and out of sight of any of those grievers.

Mid way up Minho suddenly stopped pulling and let the rope fall out of his hand and with the words " I'm sorry but you have to go through this alone now" he ran away as the screeching came closer. I could see him turn a corner and he was out of sight.
