We went back inside and I asked my....dad to see pictures of my mom.

He hesitated and then gave me a beaten up book and turned away. "You look at them, I can't." He said. I opened the book to see a young woman with black hair and blue eyes. She had tons of piercings along her ears and a nose piercing.

"She was beautiful." I said while turning the pages. But then I got to a picture where she was tied up to a chair. I was confused but as I flipped through the pages, it all made sense.

"The pages are numbered, don't go past page 50." He spoke up.

Too late. I saw pictures where she was tied up and had bruises and cuts all over her. He tortured her. He didn't love her. And if he did, he loved her too much. Why do I always get myself into these situations? Crazy people, lunatics, gangsters, murderers, abusers, you name them, I've met them.

I closed the book and picked up my daughters. "She was beautiful. I miss her, even though I don't remember her. She was an angel."

"Farthest thing from." He said, bluntly. "I loved her, but she was a pain sometimes. Don't overthink it,darling."

"Well thank you for the verification, but it is getting quite late and we should be getting home now. See ya later pops!" I said, walking to the door.

"See ya, kiddo." He said back.

We left and I couldn't get the image out of my head. My head was going wild.
