Tony had invited Stephen to one of the Avengers parties.  Now, normally he would have declined this invitation if it was from anyone else.  But it was Tony.  Tony Stark.  The man Stephen just so happened to be madly in love with.  Who could blame him?  Tony was devilishly handsome, had the most expressive, beautiful, eyes, willing to sacrifice everything for the world, the smartest person Stephen new, not to mention witty.  Okay, you get the picture by now.  Also, Tony's ex, Steve Rogers, was going.  Stephen definitely didn't want Steve flirting or trying to get Tony back.  Not on his watch.  So, at 8:00 sharp, Stephen grabbed his sling-ring and made a gateway to the Compound.

Stephen nervously shuffled into the room where the party was being held.  He noticed Tony standing next to Rhodey, Peter, and Bruce.  Tony glanced up at him and smiled, waving him over.  "Here goes nothing." He mumbles to himself.  When he got over to Tony he noticed the side glances Rogers was giving Tony.  Shit.  Tony nodded his head towards him and Peter noticed.  "Oh hey Mr. Strange! It's nice to see you!" He greets.  Stephen smiles.  "It's Doctor, but call me Stephen."

Peter just nods his head and wanders off towards the snack table.  "So, Strange, how have you been?"  Tony questions with a grin.  "Not a fan of parties, but I'm doing fine." Rhodey extends his hand.  Stephen shakes it.  "Colonel Rhodes." He greets.  "Tony tells me a lot about you, Strange." Rhodey remarks.  "I am maybe a little interesting." Stephen smirks as he says this because of the uncomfortable look on Tony's face.

Bruce speaks up.  "You know Stephen, it's quite remarkable how you were the top neurosurgeon in New York."  Stephen nods.  "I could say the same about you and your seven PHDs." Stephen inched closer to Tony.  Rogers notices from across the room and gets up.  Barnes and Wilson trailing behind.  Tony visibly tenses.  "Tony." Rogers acknowledges.  "Rogers." Tony states, barely looking up from his drink.  There was an awkward silence for a minute before Tony broke it.  "Excuse me.  I gotta go."

Tony quickly rushed up the stairs.  Stephen went after him.  Steve started, but Rhodey and Bruce stopped him.  "He just needs some fresh air, Cap." Rhodey had reassured.  Tony's clutched a hand to his chest and grabbed onto the railing of the staircase.  "Tony?"  Stephen asks gently.  "S-Siberia."  He managed to choke out.  Stephen's gaze softens.  He's never handled a panic attack before, but he knows plenty about them.

"Do you mind telling me what happened in Siberia?"  Stephen's voice was deep, but quiet.  Tony liked it.  "I c-can't s-say."  Tony wasn't doing much better, but Stephen's presence helped.  "Why not?"  As Stephen tries to question further,  Tony turns around to look at him.  "I don't wanna h-hurt h-him."  Tony admits.  Oh God, how he sounded like a child, Tony thought.  "Who?"

Tony doesn't want to answer, but he was so tired of lying to everyone.  "S-Steve."  Stephen is taken aback for a second.  "What did he do to you?"  Stephen asked, angry.  Tony sighs.  "Fine."

Tony spent the next twenty minutes describing what happened in Siberia with Steve and Bucky.  With every passing second, he got more furious.  When Tony was finished, he got him a glass of water and sat him down on the couch.  "I'll be right back, I promise."  Stephen hurried downstairs to the party.  He spotted Rogers.  He was standing next to Barnes, Wilson, Barton, and Maximoff.  Perfect.

"Rogers." Stephen practically growled at Steve.  Steve gave him a confused look.  "Yes?" Stephen glared at everyone near Steve.  "Does everyone know what happened in Siberia with Tony?" He questioned rather loudly.  Bucky tensed.  "I don't know what you're tal-

"Bullshit. You know exactly what I'm talking about."  Steve glared at him.  "It was nothing serious."  Steve defended.  "Nothing serious? Tony could've died!" He argued.  Clint and Sam gasped while Wanda raised her eyebrows.  "Steve? You said you sent someone to get him! You said he'll be fine!"  Bucky started, his attention now on Steve.

"I had to do it!  He was going to hurt Bucky!" Everyone was starting to stare at them.  Rhodey, Bruce, and Peter all went up to check on Tony.  "No!  He trusted you!  And you drove a shield through his heart!"  Stephen roared.  Everyone's attention was on them now.  "I'm sure Stark is to blame.  He brought it on himself."  Wanda joined in.  Sam and Clint were just staring,  mouths hanging open.   "Tony had nothing to do with it!  He tried to come as a friend, but ends up being betrayed!"  Wanda's eyes had a slight red tint to them and everyone started to back away, except Stephen.

Her hands glowed crimson as she glared  daggers at Stephen.  She tries sending a blast his way, but he just casts a simple spell and puts a hold on her powers.  "Hey!  Stop that!" Steve yelled.  Stephen rolled his eyes.  "She'll be fine.  If she can't control her powers without destroying the Compound, then she needs restrictions." Stephen sighed.  "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a genius to attend to."  And with that, Stephen stomped away.

Upstairs, Tony had calmed down and was sitting with Peter, Rhodey, Bruce, and Thor.  Natasha was in the corner, processing what Stephen had said downstairs.  "Care to tell us what happened, Tones?"  Rhodey asked, placing a hand on Tony's shoulder.   He groaned.  "Better get comfortable."

Later that night, with Steve and his gang gone, Tony had fallen asleep on Stephen, his face buried in his neck.  Peter's head was rested on Tony's shoulder and Rhodey had passed out on one of the recliners.  Bruce lay by Thor on the floor,  swaddled up in a blanket.  Thor was snoring noisily, but looked content.  Nat was sprawled out on the loveseat, face buried in pillows.  No matter what, they couldn't be separated.
