Fluffing my hair to get it looking better than before, takes some time. And I wanna make sure it looks at least tidy before my mum arrives at the Marano's.

"Ross, do you even realise. Your hair is literally perfect. I'm not complimenting, but giving my true opinion. And that it's flawless no matter how you put it.... I'm gonna stop talking now" Please don't, I am now only realising that I am starting to crave your sweet words.

What?

Where did that come from?

"Thank you Laura, but it's how I am" I smile at her, she smiles back at me.

With Laura & I getting ready, I think about how this conversation might go, would it possibly go in the right direction, or would it turn out to be a disaster. I guess we will have to wait and see.

++++++++

It's been another 10 minutes roughly, and that is when I hear Laura's dad's car come to a halt outside in their parking spot. I can feel my hands becoming clammy, I don't understand why because it's my mother Laura's dad has brought.

"Laura, your dad's back" She runs out from the bathroom, quickly brushing her hair and then running out the door, I wait at the end of the bed, wondering why she is rushing, then re-appears back at the door.

"Not to boost, but this is your mum. What are you waiting for?" I shake my head at her, she is rushing for no reason at all.

"Oh, I 100% know that, I don't understand why you feel the need to rush, you know. Like you just said, it's my mother, no need for first impressions" I touch her cheek with my left hand, she rest herself against it. I then follow her downstairs to meet my mother at the bottom of them.

"Hello mum, it's lovely to see you again. Thank you Mr Marano for going to collect my mother for this meeting" He shakes his head, also smiling.

"No problems at all, my pleasure. Darling have you prepared anything for our guest?" She shouts through a "Yes Darling", Laura & I follow my mother and her dad through into the living-room which is where we are going to talk apparently. I am still wondering what will come outta this, will it be good or bad.

Once we have all sat down and gotten comfortable, we all have a cup of tea or coffee. I am scanning every single one of their faces, trying to read their emotions, apparently which are a bit hard to know when you are worried.

"So, Mrs Lynch?" My mother nods her head, giving the go ahead for the name.

"We have pulled together this little gathering to have a chat about a little holiday, and we wanted Ross to join us, but we wanted to get your permission first, of course. Or, if you wanted to, you could join us, make it a 2 family trip. My wife and I have been discussing this for a few short days and we agreed we'd do it in the next few weeks when summer holidays start, that way it doesn't affect the children's education" I watched my mother's face the whole time Laura's spoke, her emotion didn't once change.

"How long would this trip last?"

That's it?

Really, mum?

"It would possibly last a few weeks, depending on how everyone's behaviour is" Oh which, he looks to Laura & I, I look at Laura and she is just looking at her dad with a death glare, past tense brought up I guess.

"Dad, I was a little girl back then, I'm not a little girl anymore now am I?" He shakes his head agreeing, then turns to his wife thanking her for the little sandwiches she prepared ahead of time.

"Well, I do like the sound of a little trip with my son and his new friend and her parents. At least, I know then there is parental supervision" Both Laura's parents nodded understanding her fact.

"What would happen on the trip?" I was rather intrigued by mother's question, before Laura's dad left, they just mentioned it, never said where it would be.

"It'd all over America, we'd possibly even pass by the Grand Canyon if you'd like" I seen the smile of high interest appear on my mothers face, she hasn't been there and she has always wanted to take me with her.

"I will admit, I have always wanted to visit that particular location and take Ross with me, I guess this will be my chance. Well, I am okay with this as long as Ross is too" I didn't need to be asked twice.

"Of course, I'd love to" We all nod knowing what the situation is.

"Alright, I will go online and the extra large deluxe since we have a another 2 wonderful guests come with us" We all smile and dive into the sandwiches.
