PERSONAL IMAGINE
GONE WRONG
The candle light dives the whole room into a dim light. A little lamp is lit up in a corner, next to the huge, white couch. The lamp adds a bit more light to the gleam of the candles.
Harry invited me over to cook for me. When I arrived and entered the living room which was nicely set up, I realized that he tried everything to make it as perfect as possible and that he doesn't want anything to go wrong. Not that a small mistake could ruin this beautiful date with him anyway.
"The food is delicious." I tell Harry and when I look up, I can recognize his cheeks becoming a different colour. His lips form into a smile
"Thank you." He shyly mumbles. His eyes observe my face and the smile widens a bit, "You look...I think you look very beautiful tonight, Alyssa. I mean, don't get me wrong. Every day—I mean you look beautiful every single day but tonight...I..."
"Thank you, Harry. You don't look bad yourself." I say and give him a reassuring smile.
He has been so nervous the entire evening already. Harry places the wine glass back on the table—or at least he tried. The bottom of the glass hits the edge of the plate and he spills the red wine all over his white button up shirt.
His green eyes widen as he looks at his now red and wet shirt. Without further ado, I get off my seat and rush over to Harry who helplessly looks at his white shirt turning red.
"Of course this had to happen." Harry mumbles and I use a napkin and try to blot dry his shirt but it won't work.
"It's like impossible to get red wine out of clothes—especially white clothes!" I say and realize that this information doesn't help Harry at all.
"I'm sorry," Harry says and grabs my wrists to put my hands away, "I will just...I'm gonna change and—Yeah, I'll be right back. Five minutes, or so."
Quickly, Harry gets up and hurries out of the room. I get up from the floor since I have knelt next to his chair and take a seat. Letting out a sigh, I wait for Harry to come back. After ten minutes I get worried. He isn't back yet and knowing Harry he never takes long to change clothes.
So, I get up from his chair and approach his bedroom when I hear a noise coming from the bathroom. Carefully, I put my ear against the wooden door and try to make out a sound but it is silent. I open the door, though, and see Harry sitting on the edge of the bathtub. His shirt which once was white is unbuttoned and reveals his tattooed chest.
Harry looks up. His green eyes are watery and he quietly sniffles. It breaks my heart to see him cry because of such a small thing.
"Hey," I whisper and kneel down in front of him. My fingers touch his cheek, "Why are you upset? Everything's fine."
"This date was supposed to be perfect. I planned everything and everything seems to go wrong. The food was burned so I had to improvise, I nearly slipped when I helped you to get out of your jacket and now I spilled the red wine all over my shirt," Harry says and sighs, "I wanted to impress you, Alyssa, and it didn't work."
"There was no need to try and impress me, Harry. I loved the date and I enjoy having you around me and I like you being so clumsy and shy. You're cute."
"Cute," Harry huffs, "It makes me look like a wimp."
"Hey, don't be so hard to yourself. I loved every second of our date. Actually, I still really enjoy it." I say and look at his tattooed chest. My index finger traces over his collar bones. Harry watches my finger tracing along his bones.
"You do?" Harry asks, sounding more encouraged now. I smile and nod. My index finger travels up his neck up to his jaw line, along his cheek bones and down to his lips.
"Very much even." I say and our faces are only inches away from each other now. Harry leans in but a second before our lips would meet he pulls away again. Shyly, he looks down and shakes his head.
"I should clean up the mess I've created in the living room." Harry mumbles and tries to stand up but I hold him in place. My fingers slip underneath his soaked shirt and I push it off his shoulders. The shirt ends up in the bathtub.
A fire flickers in his green eyes and we smile at each other. Quickly, so he can't back away this time, I lean in and kiss him. At first he is hesitant and reserved but soon he gives in and his hands travel up and down my back.
"The living room can wait." I mumble and pull him with me, out of the bathroom and into his bedroom, closing the door behind us.
_
I don't know if you wanted it like this and if Harry is shy enough for you. I tried. And I'm sorry that it took so long to update. I'm a terrible person.
