CANDLE LIGHT

Aimlessly, Harry and I lie on the couch. Legs tangled, my back against his chest and our hands intertwined. December has barely started but it is already freezing outside. Luckily, we are inside our warm home that is equipped with a working heater.

"This movie really sucks," I say giggling, "I mean, how is it possible to drive this fast on the highway without a) getting caught and b) cause an accident. And then he has only one hand on the steering weel but still has all the control over the car and is always ready to shoot his enemy. How unrealistic is that."

"It's a movie. It doesn't have to be realistic." Harry chuckles.

"But aren't movies supposed to make me feel like I can relate to them?"

"Yeah, of course Y/N. Fantasy movies for example, you can relate so much to them. I mean vampires run around all the time, don't they?" Harry responds sarcastically and I know he is rolling his eyes.

"You know what I mean." I say. Harry tightens his embrace around me for a second and I feel his chest vibrating behind me as a gentle laughter escapes his mouth.

"I do, yeah. But let's finish this movie and then you can pick one."

"I think it's a little late then to pick an—" Suddenly the whole living room turns from bright to dark. The lamps go out, the TV is turned off, not even the little red light of the DVD player shines anymore, "What just happened?"

"I think we have a power blackout." Harry answers and fidgets around behind me. I crawl of his lap and pull my legs against my chest.

  "I can't see you, Harry."

"Wait a second, love, don't move, yeah?" Harry stands up and I can't see where he is walking but the next time I see him is at the window where he opens the curtain to take a look outside. Only the moonlight is illuminating his face right now. But even the street lights outside aren't shining anymore.

"The whole block seems to have a power blackout. There is no light, no matter where you look." Harry says and pushes the curtain fully open to create some source of light. But even with the moonlight I can barely see him or anything in general, "The heater is getting cold, too."

Harry's voice is closer now and suddenly his hand is on my knee. His hand is sweeping over my leg until he finds my hand, "Come on, we go into the bedroom."

Tightly, I grasp his hand and with him ahead of me, leading us through the dark flat, we enter the bedroom. Harry closes the window while I rummage through the dressers for candles and a lighter. After I found a few candles I place three of them on the nightstand next to Harry's side and three of them on my side of the bed.

"I'll go get some blankets." Harry says and leaves the bedroom. A shiver runs through me as the our flat gets colder with every passing second. Minutes later after I lit every candle I found in the room and placed it somewhere and Harry returned with a few thin blankets, I crawl into bed.

Harry follows shortly after, getting under the mass of blankets that are here to keep us warm. He scoots closer and wraps an arm around me. My head rests in the crook of his neck as we lean in a sitting position against the headboard of our bed.

"What a great movie night." Harry says chuckling and I join him. Even though it is freezing right now, the candles somehow create a very warm and cozy atmosphere in the room.

"It's romantic." I whisper smiling as we sit in the candle light, cuddling. I catch Harry rolling his eyes, "You don't think so?"

"No, you're right. It's romantic." Harry replies and kisses my temple.

"What are we going to do now?" I breathe out and cuddle closer into Harry's side, pulling the blankets up and pushing my feet between Harry's calves.

"I can think of one, two things." Harry smirks and I gently slap his chest.

  "I'm being serious, Harry."

"Me too, Y/N." Harry answers and mockingly tries to mimic my voice when he says my name. Suddenly, we hear sounds coming from the living room. Both of us go quiet as we listen and try to identify why there are sounds.

"Oh, it's gotta be the TV! I think power is back." Harry says and gets up from the bed, taking the blankets, he brought earlier in order to keep us warm, with him to leave for the living room. I don't know if he is going to come back or if he wants to finish the movie. But a few moments later comes back and catches me blowing out the candles.

"Hey, Y/N, don't!" He stops me. His hands reach for my waist and he pulls me away from the candles that are placed on the dresser opposite our bed. With Harry still behind me, he pushes me back onto the bed and then crawls in himself.

"I like it like that," Harry admits and pulls me close so my chest touches his, "You look so beautiful in candle light," Harry mutters under his breath and then his eyes widen a bit and he shakes his head before clearing his throat, "I mean, you're beautiful every day but I just...I just can't take my eyes off you."

His voice is nothing more than a whisper but I wouldn't need him to say this any louder. My heart thumps wildly in my chest and the blood rushes to my cheeks after hearing his charming words. He lifts my hand to his mouth and gives each knuckle a kiss.

"I love you so much, Y/N." Harry says smiling a sincere smile that warms my heart.

  "I love you more."

  "That is impossible."

"No, I'm pretty sure that's possible."

"Then I guess you don't have a clue how much I love you." Harry retorts and then giggles.

"Okay we're starting to become really cheesy." I laugh and Harry joins me for briefly but then his laughter goes back to his dimpled smile.

"But I'm being honest." Harry whispers and pecks my lips gently before we end up entangled in bed, between pillows and blankets, talking late into the night until we both fall asleep.
