BRAIDS AND CROWNS
"I don't know how I feel about this, to be quite honest." Harry mumbles as I take a seat behind him. My fingers run through his soft curls. Harry mutters something so quiet I couldn't understand it but I know he is debating whether he thinks this is a good idea or not.
"It's just a braid, Harry, nothing bad." I say laughing and see Harry nodding, "Yay!" I exclaim and give him a brief kiss on the cheek before starting to braid his ear, on each side of his head.
I keep pulling Harry back when he leans forward as he picks daisies. Harry and I talk about people that are walking by as we sit in the park, a few other couples, families and group of friends around us. Sometimes Harry hands me strawberry for me to eat and I have to stop braiding his hair.
"Done!" I yell excited and Harry's fingers stroke over the two thin braids on the left and right side of his head. The middle part, which is most of his hair, is still in a bun.
"How does it look? I feel kinda stupid." Harry says and I hold up a finger.
"I'll take a picture so you can look at it. Wait a second." I tell him while I take out my phone and quickly snap a picture of his hair. I hand Harry my phone and his widen before a grin spreads across his face.
"It doesn't look too bad," Harry nods, "I think I actually quite like it."
"I think you look handsome." I say smiling a sincere smile. Harry growls and makes a face but I can see his cheeks turning slightly red at my words. He fully turns around to me with another strawberry in his hand. He gives me the fruit before he tells me to turn around.
"I wanna try and braid your hair now."
"You don't even know how to braid." I laugh.
"Uhm, excuse you, Y/N? Do I look like I never had to braid my sister's hair? Because I had to. Duh, I'm the king in braiding hair so turn around for me, love." Harry demands and I giggling move so I sit with my back to Harry.
His fingers slowly trace up my spine, making me shiver on this hot summer day. I even get goose bumps when Harry's finger lightly dance above the bare skin of my shoulder blades. They feel like a breath. Then his fingers go through my hair, slightly combing it with his fingers and parting it into three parts.
"Right...how do I do this again?" He mumbles and I can only imagine the concentrated look on his face, the frown on his forehead and his squinted eyes as he looks at my hair suspiciously and waits for him to remember how to do a braid again.
"Do you need help?"
"No, I've got this. As I said I'm the best in doing this. I just...I need some time to gather all my inspiration."
"Gather your inspiration? For a simple braid? Okay, you do you." I giggle and Harry playfully bumps my shoulder with his fist. At one point Harry starts putting part over part. Single strands of my hair that Harry missed fall into my face and my braid feels very loose. Harry didn't braid my whole hair, just the upper section of my hair. The hair below messily falls over my shoulder and my back.
Harry claps in his hand and makes a loud Ha! noise when he is finished. I turn around and raise my eyebrows, awaiting a remark from Harry about my hair.
"I think you look stunning," Harry smiles very wide and tucks a piece of hair that he missed to include in the braid behind my ear, "But wait, I've got something else."
Harry reaches behind him and reveals a long line of daisies knotted together. He makes a last knot, connecting two ends of daisies and then holds up his self-made flower crown.
"Made that when you were doing my hair." Harry says proudly and puts it on top of my hair. His smile gets wider and wider the longer he looks at me and I can't help but return it. Both of us beam of happiness as we just sit here together this afternoon, goofing around.
"I didn't even know you can do that." I say amazed and carefully touch the crown that is on top of my head. My hands cup Harry's cheek to pull his face closer to mine. I connect our lips and we slowly but passionately move them together.
"You don't know a lot of things about me." Harry mumbles and I laugh, pecking his lips again.
"True," I tease him, "For example, I didn't know you look like a princess with braids in your hair."
"I do? Then we should quickly remove those braids," Harry says and the corner's of his mouth curl upwards when he sees my pout, "because there already is a beautiful princess, sitting right in front of me."
"You're a charmer," I tell him and then pick some daises from beside the blanket we are sitting on top of, "Can you teach me how to do one of these?"
