After a nostalgic trip back to your favorite coffee shop and the consumption of two cups of coffee and a muffin, an idea popped into your head. As you left the coffee shop, you silently began to lead the way to a place unknown. Taehyung looked at you questioningly but before he could ask you simply gave him a reassuring smile not to worry. You let your feet carry you about a mile from where you had started, the buildings starting to becoming fewer and farther between as the two of you started to tread upon a dirt path.

You could see the metal gates off in the distance and your eyes fixated on the looming structure that was coming more into view with each step you took. Taehyung finally took notice, letting his eyes feed his curiosity as he noticed where you were heading. Swallowing his empty throat he remained silent and stayed close to your side.

Reaching the iron gate, you pulled it open and let your body slip through the crack. The metal screaming as the hinges were tighter due to the moister that hung in the air and fell from the sky. The rain was back, this time you didn't try and will it away again. The soft droplets that hit your skin and trailed down your face somehow brought you a sense of peace that you couldn't quite understand.

Taehyung followed in after you and shut the gate behind himself. You began to wander down the worn footpath as your eyes scanned over each stone slab as you passed them by. Names and dates marked the final resting place of so many, but you were looking for a certain one. You took notice how some of the older markers had a green tint, years of mold and weather damage slowly destroying the marker as the families had eventually stopped visiting the graves of their relatives, moving on with their lives and leaving the unchangeable past behind them.

You couldn't help but let a sense of sorrow sink into your chest at that realization. You lowered your head, trying to push away those thoughts as you continue on your search. Your steps began to slow as you approached a more familiar spot in the graveyard, a few rows away. You could see one marker off in the distance, with a patch of dirt that had yet to grow grass yet and a pristine stone slab that was still spotless. You took in a breath and began to wonder that way, careful to walk out of the area where coffins would directly be placed just under the earth.

You could hear Taehyung's comforting steps follow behind before finally coming to a stop as you did, standing directly in front of a single grave. You lowered your head, biting down on your lip as you fought back your feelings, avoiding reaching the name that you knew was etched there. You cast your gaze to the side, glancing back at Taehyung as he stood a few feet away trying to offer you your space.

His gaze softened, still apologetic. He didn't know the right thing to say to you, there likely was nothing he could say that would make this easier, but his presences was enough. You offered him a soft nod of your head, your wet locks bouncing before sticking to your skin. You flashed your eyes back to the stone slap, facing it head on as you read your own name carved into the stone.

Loving Daughter
If love could have saved you,
You would have lived forever.

You took in a deep breath and held it in your lungs, using the air to suppress the emotion from boiling up to your eyes. Your hands clenched in your jacket pocket, squeezing repeatedly as you tried to calm yourself down. It was surreal, to see your gravestone. You had so desperately tried to find it after you realized your fate but it hadn't been here yet. You guessed your family was waiting for something, they were waiting for this engraving.

Why did they have to leave such a message? It hurt so much more knowing they went that extra step, it hurt even worse knowing that message read a letter of regret. There was nothing you could do, no matter what they would blame themselves for what happened to you. You wanted so badly to tell them it wasn't their fault.
