10. Meeting Mr. Right...

"Mama..." A distant voice calls out to me as I am sleeping.

At first I thought it was a dream although everything is pitch black in my head.

"Mama..." The voice says again this time a bit more deeper as I felt my bed dipped.

Yawning I stretch and flutter my eyes open to see Imani and Cordell sitting on my bed.

"Good morning mama..." Imani says sliding in bed next to me her curly hair briskly touch my face.

"Morning baby girl and baby boy what are you guys still doing in your pajamas your father will be here any minute..." I say as I pull Cordell into the bed with me and Imani.

It's been a while since I had my kids in the bed with me they would always come in and surprise their father and I when we slept in which was rare for Bernard.

Soon it became a thing for just me and the kids but after the divorce I just been in a weird loop.

"Daddy just called ten minutes ago he can't make it this weekend he has to go with Cassandra to see her family this weekend he forgot so he sees us next weekend..." Cordell says and I internally curse Bernard for his bad scheduling and poor excuses.

"But this means we can spend the weekend with you mama isn't that great?" Imani says and I smile.

"Yeah baby it's amazing we are going to have fun but first I need to talk to you guys come here..." I say sitting up as I place Imani on one side of me and pull Cordell closer to the other side.

I have both of them laid under my arms and I am a bit nervous but I got to tell them.

"Okay I want to know how you guys feel about me dating someone now?" I ask nervous for their answer.

"Ooh you met someone mama who is he? Is he a Prince?" Imani asked and I chuckled if she only knew.

"I am happy you are mama as long as he is nice to you and us and he treats you good and make you happy you should date I don't want you sad mama..." Cordell says smiling up at me.

"Okay now I am about to tell you who he is and if you feel uncomfortable or don't like it we can talk about this and make it feel right for you guys...I want you to know that I love you and you guys are first in my life and..." I say but Cordell interrupts me.

"It's Coach Nelson right?" He asked nearly shocking the hell out of me.

"Ooh mama your dating Mr. Nelson? He is my favorite person here besides you mama..." Imani says getting excited.

"Yeah I am how did you know Dell?" I asked confused.

"I see how he looks at you mama he looks at you like you're the most beautiful woman in the world because you are and you make him smile a lot when you come to practice..." He says making my heart warm.

"Oh yeah he even was going to teach us a new song called Lena next week...mama is that song about you?" Imani asked and I blushed.

"I don't know baby you would have to asked him but are you guys okay with that?" I asked them always putting their feelings first.

"I am happy if you're happy mama I like to see you smile again after daddy made you sad you didn't smile anymore and Coach Nelson makes you smile congratulations mama..." Cordell says kissing my cheek smiling.

"Me too I love Mr. Nelson he so fun and cool and now Beverly Mitchell will really be mad when she finds out Mr. Nelson will he my new daddy and not hers Ha her mama always try to talk to Mr. Nelson..." Imani says and I chuckle.
