21. Home Sweet Home...

"Well that's the last of it!" Cordell says as he places the box in the living room.

His mother and sister was in the kitchen preparing lunch while Cordell and I unpack the bags and boxes.

"I'm so glad you came into our lives..." He says as I lift his boxes towards his new room.

I thoroughly clean and repainted my old childhood bedroom for Cordell to use as well as getting Imani bedroom ready and the impending baby.

"I'm glad I did too you guys are awesome...So you're ready for me to help you unpack?" I asked as he nodded and we got to work.

After about two and a half hours of setting up his and Imani's room and eating lunch I decided to take the kids to the movies while Lena relaxed at home.

Imani tugged on my pants as we waited at the concession stand.

"Hey Prince can I get a cotton candy?" She asked with those puppy dog eyes I couldn't resist.

"You can get whatever you want Princess..." I respond as she beams.

Sipping the tea Prince made before he left I was really relaxing into the couch when I heard the doorbell ring.

Getting up I walked over and answered it.

"Hello Mr. Nelson good to see you after such a long time..." I say greeting Prince's father.

"Uh who are you and what are you doing in my son's house little lady?" He asked me as I look a bit confused.

"Uh its me Mr. Nelson Lena from next door I'm all grown up now but I am here living with your son now since we are engage..." I say showing him the ring and he smile.

"Oh wow that's wonderful Lena...Lena Simmons my son has been liking you since he was a kid good to see he finally went after what he want congratulations...I'm sorry I didn't know...I travel alot and hardly had time to check in with him so where's the champ now?" He asked as I let him in and follow him to the kitchen.

"He is out he took my kids to the movies but he should be back soon..." I say pouring him a glass of water as he pulled out his pills.

"Your kids?"

"Uh yes before I came back here to live I used to be married before and had two kids but then I got divorced and a few years later I moved back here and link back up with Prince and now we are here soon to be married and have a kid of our own along with my two kids who he adores..." I say to the confused John Nelson.

"Well that is surely a lot going on that I missed..." He starts to say when the front door opens.

"Mommy we're home!!!" Imani yells.

"Lena baby the kids and I are here I picked up dinner since you should stay off your feet and...John?" Prince says entering the kitchen.

"Hey babies go upstairs and wash your hands and tell me about your day while Prince talks to his dad okay..." I say to the kids as they said Hi leaving them in the kitchen.

"What are you doing here?" I asked placing the dinner on the counter.

"Well Hello son that would be a nice start I am here to see you I told you I will be back..." He says coughing a bit before sipping his water.

"Yeah Thanksgiving...that was 5 months ago John its March going into April do you realize that?" I say putting away some of the groceries.
