I dedicated this chapter to Cavy because the creek path Alex and Jason go on is based on the place Cavy and I spent most our Summer.

Could It Get Any Better?  

POV Jason  

I got to Alex's house right on time. I stood on the door step a few seconds before knocking on her door. As I waited I looked down at myself; I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I hoped to hell she wasn't expecting a tux. When she answered the door I saw that, thank god, she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Her t-shirt had a monster on it and the words 'I eat you' in a speech bubble.  

"So, are we staying in or going out?" she asked.  

"Out, of course" I said.  

POV Alex  

"Out, of course" he said trying to be gentlemen like although it really didn't suit him. With his dark brown hair dangling right above his way to gray eyes it made him look like a vampire right out of a movie.  

He took my hand and led the way out to his little black convertible. Damn him and his rich parents, I though to myself. He opened the passenger car for me and I happily hopped in. I was glad I didn't have to drive this time, driving made me nervous even though I didn't show it.  

He hoped into the car on the driver's side and started driving to Main Street. We live in a small town and don't have much to do so I supposed he would make the best of it. He ended up driving through the whole town making small talk the whole time. We drive right out of town and to a small creek side parking lot.  

"There is a path that goes all the way up the stream and ends at a restraint" said Jason as if he was proud he remembered.  

"I have never heard of this place" I half said half whispered to myself.  

"No humans can see it" he said answering my question "Witches put a spell on the area. If a human were to come through they would find themselves on the other side of the creek" he said answering my next question. He took my hand and we started walking upstream on the path. The path went up a ways then turned with the creek. Up by the turn I saw two women picking plants and putting them in a basket.  

"Hello Ava and Sophia" said Jason to the women when we approached.  

"Hello Jason" said one of the women "And who is this?"  

"Alex this is Sophia, Sophia this is Alex" Jason said "Sophia and Ava are witches."  

"Oh that explains the herbs" I said sounding really stupid.  

"Yes, we use them for a lot of stuff" said Sophia. Sophia was really pretty; she had long blond hair and dark blue eyes and a flawless face. She looked at me like I should know this stuff.  

"Hello Alex, im Ava Im a witch too" said the other girl; she had short black hair and squinty black eyes.  

"Hi" I said then I turned to Jason "Shall we keep walking again?"  

"Yes we should" he said "Goodbye Sophia and Ava." I waved at the girls and they said short goodbyes and they went off picking herbs again. We started walking and we saw other people while we did. Jason pointed out a pale lady as being a vampire and a dog as being a werewolf. I laughed when we saw the werewolf but when he growled at me I shut up.  

We also saw a few fairies and Jason explained to me that there are two kinds. One kind is the original (Small with wings and pink fluffy skirts) and the adapted kinds (normal and human looking, really pretty and can turn into the little fairies.  

We started to come up too a small building after about an hour or so of walking. The building wasn't really a building; it was more of a cave with a small round door. I was built in the side of a mountain but when you got inside you would never even notice. The inside was decorated like a Gypsy's home. I have tables everywhere, different cloth hanging from the ceiling and a big crystal chandelier hanging in the middle of the room.  

We got seated and handed menus. I looked at the menu and saw some really weird stuff. There was raw meet, blood drinks and this weird food that looks like it sparkled.  

Jason reached across the table and flipped the menu to the more normal foods for me and said "Werewolf, Vampire and Fairy food is not so good for humans"  

"So is this like every non-existing restaurant?" I asked.  

"No, this is a fast food place" he replied. Fast food? This was better then all the high class restraints I have seen.  

"Oder and you will see" he said as if he could read my mind. I looked at the menu and order steak and potatoes. Ten minutes after we ordered our food got here.  

"Oh it is fast food" I gasped as a impish looking girl can up and handed us our food.  

"I told you" said Jason digging into his food. I ate slowly because I wasn't really hungry.  

We talked for awhile but my eyes lingered at the door once in awhile. Four men stoked there, they were wearing silver cloaks with the hood up. I notice the waitresses didn't talk or look at them, which was weird because they were cheerful and happy to everyone else.  

POV Jason  

I noticed Alex glance over at the Nonexistent guards standing at the door. I knew they would come sooner or later but I didn't think they would come on our date. I hoped that they were here for someone else.  

We continued eating and she acted like she couldn't see the men in the cloaks. We talked about stupid things like that dumb old ford or the way the waitresses giggled when I smiled at them. Alex didn't mind this; I think she found it funnier then she did threatening. I knew that she loved me now; she just gave off this wonderful vibe that made my whole world grow. She giggled often and stared to my eyes as if she could see my soul. I would have never admitted it but I did the exact same thing. We were inseparable and completely in love.
