The Parents
POV Alex
“Oh my gosh!” squealed Dolly early the next morning as she looked down at my ring. The ring had a silver band and a big black pearl in it.

“I tried to find one that looked similar to my mothers,” said Jason. We sat in my room, it was nine o’clock and the weather outside was stormy and rather depressing.
“I love it!” I said.
“Mum and Dad will be here in an hour,” said Mark we all turned to see him standing in the doorway.
“I’m not dressed yet,” I shrieked.
“Me neither!” Dolly mimicked my tone and ran to her room, Mark disappearing too.
“Alex could you do me a favor?” asked Jason.
“Sure,” I relied.
“Could you take off your ring until I can talk to my parents about it?” he asked.
“Okay,” I said feeling a little hurt. Jason thanked me and gave me a quick kiss before heading out. I pulled the ring off as I walked into my bathroom and slipping it into my makeup bag. I walked to my closet and started to shift through my shirts. I settled on a white t-shit with sort of puffy sleeves, and a pair of jeans. I put on very light makeup, cover up and mascara, and brushed my hair, letting my natural waves take over.
Minutes ticked by and soon it was time to meet the parents. My stomach flipped as I walked to the throne room, I could already hear people talking and I assumed they were already here. I started to walk slowly as I got closer to the throne room. I could hear everyone and two other voices I didn’t recognize. As soon as I entered the room all eyes were on me. The counsel stood with Jason, Mark, Dolly and who people I assumed were Jason’s parents. The women resembled Mark, with her long light brown hair but her eyes were the color of Jason’s, grey. The man had Jason’s dark hair and sharp chin but had light blue eyes like Mark’s.
I slowly walked in and went to stand beside Jason, who was standing right in front of his parents.
“I am Alex,” I said as I held my hand out to the women. It looked like she scowled at it and the man quickly shook it.
“I am David and this is my wife Caroline,” said David and I smiled at him.
“Mom, Dad, could I talk to you alone,” Jason asked his parents. They nodded and started to walk up stairs.
“I’m sorry about my mom,” Jason whispered in my hair before kissing me and running after his parents. Mark also left so I walked over to Dolly.
“I don’t think their mom likes us,” she sighed.
“Ditto,” I sighed. Dolly and I went for breakfast in the kitchen and I started to get all jittery.
“Alex, I know you nervous about turning but everything will be fine,” she sighed.
“I know, I can’t help it though,” I sighed. I stopped swinging my legs when I say the kitchen door open. Jason walked in with a rather large grin on his face.
“After a fight with my parents they decided to let me marry you,” Jason said.
“That’s great! I can put the ring on now!” I shrieked.
“What about Mark and me?” Dolly asked Jason.
“He is arguing your case right now. My parents think what you and Jason have isn’t real,” Jason sighed.
“I’ll go up there and show them how real I can be!” Dolly shrieked and he started heading for the door.
“Dolly, just let it run its course,” Jason said as he grabbed the back of her shirt and forced her to sit again. Dolly slumped back in her chair and absentmindedly nibbled on a carrot.
